An owner who cares about doing things right. Teachers who love their jobs. Many of the kids come from the area. They're also diverse, too, which we loved. It's a pillar of our local lives, just a lovely lovely place.

The balance of creative and academic activities is so thoughtfully done. Each day is thoroughly designed to nurture curiosity, confidence, and a love of learning. Ms. Maria, Ms. Beatrice, and Ms. Angela are truly incredible. Their patience, kindness, and genuine love for the children made such a meaningful difference in our son's growth and confidence. They supported him beautifully in his learning and were especially amazing during potty training; always encouraging, gentle, and positive. Watching him thrive in their care has meant everything to us. Ms. Julia brings a level of professionalism, care, and organization that is truly felt throughout the school. She clearly understands how to thoughtfully run a preschool while still maintaining a warm, family like environment. We are endlessly grateful for the love, care, and strong foundation this school has given our son. West Hollywood Children's Academy is truly a gem, and we would recommend it without hesitation to any family looking for the very best preschool experience.

The Staff Ms. Monica and Ms. Nancy have both been teaching at Yachay for over 8 years. That kind of consistency speaks volumes about the school's supportive environment, low turnover, and commitment to quality care and education. 2. Curriculum and SEL The school follows a clear scope and sequence for the year and thoughtfully integrates social-emotional learning into daily routines. For example, my son received a laminated "feelings chart" connected to read-alouds during circle time. He also practices mindfulness and breathing through yoga. On top of that, they offer affordable extracurriculars such as gym and music. 3. Food My son genuinely enjoys the meals and snacks, which is a huge plus. 4. Family Events Families are invited to celebrate birthdays and attend special events like dance performances, which creates a strong sense of community. 5. Progress and Communication The school provides progress reports and report cards during parent-teacher conferences. I appreciate seeing how my son is growing, as well as knowing the areas where he can continue developing. 6. Kindergarten Readiness I feel confident my child will transition smoothly into TK/K. Yachaywasi equips students with the tools they need--fine motor skills, patience, independence, and work habits--to thrive in a larger academic setting. 7. Spanish Immersion The Spanish immersion program is another highlight, giving my son exposure to language and culture Overall, Yachaywasi has been an incredible place for my son to learn and grow, and I'm grateful for the care and expertise the teachers provide every day.

They just happen to be down the street from us which makes it obviously very convenient, but this truly is a wonderful little school. There's not a lot of kids which means the teachers can really pay attention to their development. The Spanish immersion is really great because this is the perfect age for them to learn another language. The owner is very understanding when things don't go as planned and will work with you. My daughter quickly loved it and speaks of her teachers often. They also offer a camp during traditional school breaks which is helpful for working parents.

From the…read morevery beginning, it felt like we had found something truly special -- and now that our time here is coming to an end, I already know I'm going to have post-Piper depression when she leaves! The teachers are nothing short of incredible. They are smart, deeply compassionate, and so engaging with the kids. My daughter started as a shy little girl who was hesitant to speak up -- now, she expresses herself with confidence, curiosity, and kindness. The way they have nurtured her voice while protecting her innocence and allowing her personality to shine has been nothing short of magic. And speaking of magic -- the actual preschool feels like a little enchanted pocket of joy. There's a creek the kids play near, nature all around, and a warm, welcoming energy that you can feel the moment you walk in. It's playful, imaginative, and full of heart. The support staff deserves a shoutout too -- they're just as amazing as the teachers. And seriously, the place is probably cleaner than a hospital. Every detail, every person, every part of this school shows just how much care and love is poured into it. We are forever grateful for this experience and for the community that has helped our daughter thrive. If you're lucky enough to get a spot here -- take it.

In Los…read moreAngeles, it can be a bit overwhelming to find the right preschool, in the right location, with the right vibe for your child and family. I can say with near certainty that you can't go wrong with Piper. Yes, the building is beautiful, yes the teachers are great, yes your child will leave with an amazing education, but I hope you find those things in most any school you consider. What makes Piper Preschool magical is all the space between. It's the kindness, patience, understanding and community that truly sets it apart. It's a place where my kids have made mistakes without judgement, where teachers have kept a close eye on their growth while helping them through the major stepping stones of their development (potty training, friendships, speech, big feelings). It's a place where I can walk into the admin office at any time to chit chat because the door is always open for dialogue, and it's a place where the parents are welcome every day as true members and participants of the school (the community room was practically my office for awhile). Piper Preschool is a socially and economically diverse school (which was very important to us) full of warmth and kindness, where everyone feels loved and appreciated, from the child to the parent. And when the time comes for your family to start thinking of Kindergarten, you will have a team of teachers and admin who know you and your child intimately and will help guide you through the process, whether that be to public school or private. On a last personal note, Piper Preschool really has been an extension of our home for the past 6 years. My kids have made lifelong friends at Piper, but so have I. The teachers have held my kids' hands through their own ups and downs, but they've held my hand through them as well. Piper has set the bar quite high as it relates to the kind of education and community we want for our kids and family, and we're very blessed to have had it for 6 years. (My husband jokes we should have baby #3, just so we can stay. That should tell you something right there. ha!).

Pros: - the academics are excellent, especially when it comes to learning to read. - cannot say enough good things about Ms. Gia! - they enjoyed coming to school and loved their teachers - there is a true commitment to the value of bilingualism Opportunities for growth which I don't think could be learned from a tour or handbook: - traditional binary gender stereotypes are reinforced with explanations or comments like "boys like to play more rough" - there is a missed opportunity to engage with parents as equal partners who can add value. - I wouldn't mind sacrificing the academics a bit for more time spent on social emotional content, such as how to navigate conflict on the playground or being inclusive of all classmates or celebrating growth and transitions Would I choose a different preschool if I had to do it all over again? I don't think so. We would still have chosen this school. It was a solid start to our children's school experiences.

The biggest, loudest red flag is their snack menu: skinny POPCORN and RAISINS, two of the most commonly known choking hazards. The admin confirmed their snack schedule is up to date, and indicated "nothing has ever happened before" when questioned about the popcorn and raisins. Well, I'm glad none of the kids under your supervision have choked as a result, but that doesn't mean it can't happen. Any decent preschool / day care would not endanger their littles. On top of that, the teachers looked tired and the playrooms underwhelming. I observed a couple of children practicing writing, yet they seemed dim and not as engaged or as happy as other kids I've observed at other schools. No, I would not recommend this place. I would stay far away.

She cried for the first two weeks, which is completely normal at that age, but Anies met every wobble with calm patience and genuine kindness. That gentle transition paid off. Now she walks through the door without even looking back, completely confident, and she has never cried again. Most importantly, I feel she is truly safe there, and that peace of mind is everything. The kids also enjoy genuinely fun and enriching activities: art projects, music time, and even visits from animals. It's a place where learning and play blend beautifully. The environment is warm, attentive, and personal. It's clear that the children are cared for, not simply supervised. Anies really understands them. I highly recommend this daycare to any parent looking for a nurturing, thoughtful, and safe place for their child.

As someone who speaks several languages, the language aspect was very important to me. I've seen a big difference--my children started to understand and speak a little French in a short time. Every day at 10:00 AM, they have a structured learning session where they learn colors, numbers, and the alphabet. After just three months, the progress was amazing. The food is kosher, organic, fresh, and delicious--homemade meals that I would happily eat myself. I highly recommend this daycare to any parent looking for a warm, loving, and professional environment for their children
