We were coming to Handanger fjord from Bergen, so this was a good stopping point. It was easy to get to by car because the roads and highways are well maintained.
There are toilets and an information office with a cafe and store in the Steindalfossen parking lot, but the bathrooms were dirty because of the crowds of people.
There is a path with rails to walk behing the waterfall, which was cool, but there is a steep walk up to this spot. It would be arduous for some to make it here. Swimming is allowed in the bottom of the falls, which seemed really fun.
The view towards the fall is idyllic and lovely, then the view from the top allowed us to see over farms and mountains. It was a nice introduction into this part of Norway. read more
