I would not recommend working with Ms. Amonette. I cannot adequately express my disappointment…read morewith Ms. Amonette as an attorney. She was unreliable, extremely slow at responding, and at some points would completely ignore my e-mails even after several attempts to outreach. As an attorney with a $400/hr rate I found this completely unacceptable and frankly pathetic. She is nothing but kind and warm when accepting your initial $6000 retainer but after that her communication and everything else goes downhill. Whenever she did respond to my outreach she made sure to charge $40-100 for every little quick response she sent even though no traction was being made on my case. My ex and I decided to go to a neutral mediator who helped us out because we were so tired of paying money to lawyers to not feel like we were getting anywhere. After working with a mediator and getting all of our affairs buttoned up (parenting plan, child support, assets) signed sealed and delivered to her she still did absolutely nothing to move the case forward. I even received a call from the court in my county threatening to close the divorce case because they had been reaching out to Ms. Amonette and had not heard anything back from her despite the fact that she had all of the documents that we had to get prepared with the mediator in her possession for over 2 weeks. I finally made the decision to fire Ms. Amonette as I was done with the lack of communication and progress. When I sent the email terminating her services for once in my experience with her her response was prompt and I received the remainder of my retainer back early the next week. I used just a small portion of that retainer to hire a flat rate divorce attorney who had gotten the divorce finalized in less than 2 weeks of receiving the docs that my ex and I had already signed off on. I was furious that she had made it seem like there was so much left to do and I am confident that she would have dragged everything on to deplete my retainer for months. I believe that she is the quintessential money hungry lawyer and that her bread and butter are the big money cases and if you are a regular upper middle class client she will push you to the absolute bottom of the priority list. The mediator that I worked with told me that she just got another client of Ms. Amonette's who came to her just as frustrated as I did with the lack of communication and progress. I usually don't write reviews but I felt a deep obligation to women, especially moms who are thinking of hiring Ms. Amonette. When you are already trying to struggle to figure out what to do in the midst of all of the turmoil that divorce brings, the last thing you need is a divorce attorney like Kristen who will not only leave you confused about the process but will leave you penniless if she has the chance. If you're rich and just need someone to bulldog your ex you'll likely be fine, everybody else RUN.

While not low cost or inxpensive, Kristen Amonette got me the results I was desperately needing. It is true, you get what you pay for.... In this town of Nashville, connections with others is what drives results, and Mrs. Amonette knows everyone worth knowing. What impressed me most was her ability to manage my expectations. Her attention to detail was impeccable at a time when my entire world felt like it was completely scrambled. Hiring Mrs. Amonette was the best decision I made and my life has been back to the fast track of success ever since.

She rarely knew answers to simple questions. When we were in court, I asked if I could speak to the judge and her response was that I'm going to do what I want to do anyway and didn't answer me. That's not an attorney. I reached out to Mr. Casey regarding the repeating disrespectful behavior and that I wanted to switch attorneys in the firm or get my money back to hire another attorney. He ignored me. I asked Simmons to refund me, and she refused. Every single interaction was a horrible experience after they got my $4,500.

A year ago today I walked into the courtroom with the Lord on my side and Daniel Bryant as my…read morelawyer. I had filed for a divorce in July '18 after 25 yrs of marriage. It was the hardest decision that I've ever made. When going through such an ordeal you need a lawyer who is going to have your best interest in mind. A lawyer who is going to work, think, strategize and listen to you. The first lawyer I chose was none of those things. He appeared to either be friends with my husband's lawyer or afraid of him. Maybe both. I don't know. But what I do know is that had he remained my lawyer I would have lost everything. In Jan'19, I relieved him and hired Daniel Bryant. Daniel listened and felt he could help me. And he read my file. I know because he scheduled depositions, emailed, issued subpoena's, gathered witnesses, researched property values all those things that would make my case strong. My previous lawyer didn't do any of this. This helped me to trust Daniel. Daniel doesn't know this, but during a break from court, I sat and watched as Daniel sat and watched my soon to be ex husband. It was if he was studying his mannerisms, or lack thereof. After witnessing this there was no doubt in my mind that Daniel was going to fight for what he felt I deserved. Needless to say, I am EXTREMELY HAPPY with my divorce settlement. Daniel Bryant stepped in and recognized that I needed a lawyer who is detailed and experienced. I HIGHLY recommend Casey, Simmons & Bryant as this law office saw me through and proved they are worth every penny of my lawyer's fees which Daniel Bryant fought and won for my ex husband to pay!! Matt Pulle, the attorney at Pepper Law who handled my case, was exceptionally responsive, thoughtful, competent, and caring. I could not have asked for a better lawyer. Matt promptly answered all my emails and phone calls, worked diligently on the case, was incredibly well informed, and did everything possible to achieve our goals. Matt considered all aspects of the case, not just the legal issues, and was genuinely concerned about providing the best results possible. The staff at Pepper Law was also prompt, responsive and professional. I would highly recommend this law firm to anyone needing legal services.

But I am not a client of this firm. I am not a plaintiff or a defendant in the case either. I kept my family member company during the mediation with my two young kids. Elizabeth Alexander asked me to sign the mediation memo which I am not a party to. I refused and asked her why I needed to sign. She told me that I had to sign. When I tried to leave with my two young kids, she told me that I cannot leave without signing the memo. I felt unsafe, especially with two young kids. And I had to sign the mediation memo. She dragged me into a lawsuit that I am not a party to and that caused a lot of legal issues. Now I have to deal with the consequence of that signature. I think Elizabeth Alexander is not qualified as an attorney and what she did to me was unethical. I believe Alexander is one of the highest-paid attorneys at Pepper Law PLC. If you are reading this message, please think twice before making your decision.
