I planned a trip around Norway by myself after spending some time in Germany with some friends. My parents lived in the country for some time while my dad studied Chemistry in Oslo, so I felt a need to check out this beautiful country where a lot of my heritage lies.
I must say it has been a few years since I visited, but since I have taken to Yelp more I realized I should give some high marks to this little bed and breakfast.
The Steens Hotel is a small bed and breakfast place near a great, little park. It's in an older building, which makes the experience that much better. There is a lot of charm and character that comes with this hotel. The rooms are a good size for one traveler and have all the amenities a person may need.
I was able to walk to parks and to the market from the hotel, but pack your walking shoes because it's a longer walk.
The staff was friendly and also made certain to hold my bags on my last day while I explored the city before departing for the train station to head back to Oslo.
The breakfast spread was good and there was always tea available with little cookies in the afternoon, which made for a perfect treat after taking a midday nap between my adventures to explore the city.
I would highly recommend a local or a foreign traveler to stay at this little place. The price is fair, the place is quaint and clean with character, and it is in a great location. (I will post pictures soon, because this place deserves some more praise through photos.)
