My first visit to Barcelona was amazing. What a beautiful, magical and epic metropolis. I am sorry I hadn't visited sooner. I did not think that I would be visiting Steelworks, but it just so happened my friend was interested in getting his ears pierced. Naturally, tagging along, I was inspired to add a 3rd piercing to my ear. Being in business for 27 years, Marta and Santi have an impeccable business. All visits are by appointment only. The studio is extremely clean, organized and very inviting. It is well lit, and overall a well run business. Marta made both my friend and I very comfortable like it was her home. The pain for our piercings were minimal, but Marta was super patient, precise and very meticulous. After the process was complete, Marta was all smiles and super thankful for our business. We kept thinking, what other body art do we want the next time we visit Barcelona. As a native, Marta also recommended a wonderful restaurant in nearby Sitges! I've been sitting on my tattoo design for over two years and was looking for a shop. Just recently I was on vacation in Barcelona with my hubby and we felt that Barcelona is the place for us to get our 2nd tattoo. We came across another shop that had more Yelp reviews but lucky for us they were busy and they send us to Steelworks. After meeting Marta, and seeing Santi's work we knew it was a good place! Studio is very clean and Marta does a great job welcoming you and asking the right questions. When I needed to purchase some high quality body jewelry, I found it surprisingly difficult to find a piercing studio. I haven't found any place that's a dedicated piercing studio, most are tattoo studios with piercing included as an afterthought. I finally found this place when I tried to go to another place listed on Yelp as a piercing/tattoo shop, Pro Arts, which told me they don't do piercing after all (I've submitted a correction to Yelp to remove "piercing" from their business type to help others avoid the same mistake as well). They were open when they said they'd be (even on the eve of a holiday). The woman who helped me was friendly, professional, and spoke decent English. She seemed to know exactly what I needed without having to explain in much detail. I had an infected ear piercing and needed a ring in some non-allergenic metal to allow for it to heal; she had a titanium ring in just the right size, and took me to a clean room to put it in for me using sterile equipment, and even helped adjust another earring that requires special tools to do. It cost me €20 - I don't know how that compares to other places, but I'm happy to pay for quality jewelry from a place that knows how to avoid/treat infection, as treating it myself at home with the silver ring I had been wearing just wasn't doing the trick. I've since come in to have that same ring removed once my infection was healed and I wanted to wear other jewelry, and the same woman helped me right away. It only took a minute and cost €3. [This is repeated 3x only because when I originally added the business, it got incorrectly listed as being in Mexico, so I created a new listing with the same review, then the Admins merged the two so a bad review appeared as my most recent one.
