Howie did a great job on my cut, and was funny and friendly to boot. The cut is $18 baseline, and with a tip you can look to spend $23-30 bucks, which I'd say is well worth it. These guys run a clean shop with a cool old-school straight razor and scissors vibe and they really pay attention to detail while also being quick. As most people have said in their reviews, the wait can be pretty intense to get a spot in the chair, so arrive early. I got in at 9AM on a Saturday and waited for about an hour before I got a seat, which they said is pretty standard. WARNING ! The following is a review of service and not quality. According to their site, Steadfast Barber Shop is open from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Tuesday through Saturday, and admits walk-ins only. Be warned, these are not their actual hours. I "walked in" at 5:28 PM on a Tuesday, having just left work, only to be told by the barber on staff that he simply wasn't doing any more haircuts today. To be fair, he was servicing someone else at the moment, but I expect anyone that walks in 30 minutes before closing time, with no one else in line, will be able to get a haircut. If I could have made an appointment, I would have, but that wasn't an option. Maybe this is an unreasonable thing to be upset about, but I expect businesses to stick to their stated hours, and the staff at Steadfast Barber Shop certainly did not. read more

Previous post: After waiting for 30 mins I sat in the barbers chair and was asked what kind of haircut I wanted. I gave him a description, skin fade with a 1 on top, line me up. After I finished with my description I was told he doesn't do "hip hop haircuts". He recommended that I go to Ganzels and ask for Fred if I wanted that type of haircut. Really? A simple skin fade with a line up is considered a "hip hop haircut". I've been getting this same haircut for over 20 years. My military barbers could even do this basic haircut. So, if you're looking for a basic haircut, don't go to steadfast, more specifically don't go to Dale at Steadfast. I will say the only good customer service Dale the barber (if you even want to call him a barber) got right was recommending me to Fred. He gave me the best "hip hop haircut" ever!! Reply: Howie, Appreciative? I was just caught off guard by his rudeness (some would say it was borderline racist). Simply telling me what he can and can't accomplish is different from telling me he doesn't do "hip hop haircuts" and then when I asked what he meant by that, he brought me a magazine and pointed out an African American with the basic haircut I was looking for. I understand it's your business and you want to save face, but making excuses for an employee who speaks like that to your customers sure says a lot about the type of business you run. Howie, it's not right and trying to justify it and put it back on me is just as bad, if not worse. This used to be my go to place for a hair cut in town. The quality slowly went down hill with each cut and the customer service was minimal so I began going elsewhere. However today I thought I would give them another try. I asked for a fade and a trim and provided a picture of myself from a previous haircut. What I got was a longer buzz cut around the side of my head, and a lazy trim on top. I was in the chair for maybe 15 minutes. Now I will have to go elsewhere to fix this lazy hair cut and get what I want. Essentially paying twice. I will be passing on Steadfast moving forward. read more
