I was invited to stay here for work and just wanted to let you know how great it is! Stopping in the 19th floor was really cool, apart from my vertigo but I could see for miles. They sent me a text after I arrived to welcome me and ask me if i needed anything, which was great! There were oranges and a pint of milk waiting in the fridge! I don't know why oranges were living in the fridge but I do know they were from the Birmingham Markets! This is the Rotunda! If one of your friends wants somewhere to stay in Birmingham that isn't a hotel. This should be your first suggestion! Out of the main entrance you are right in the middle of Birmingham with food and drink everywhere! My really lovely room was a studio with a half wall to keep the bed feeling like it wasn't right in the living room! If you are single or happy to hear everything your other half is doing then this is the apartment for you! They also do one and two bed apartments on different floors. Each has Sky, Blu Ray, Microwave, Cooker, Coffee Machine, Toaster & a coffee maker! This is a very different review to the one I did for work! I've cut to the chase and give you a whole bunch of facts! Bring friends and have a dinner party! Make sure they are gone by 11pm as there is a fee for late night guests! Fab penthouse apartments. The views are to die for and the rooms are spacious, modern, and well designed. Having a balcony on the 20th floor is great too (unless you hate heights). The location is really good too- right in the heart of the bullring and moments away from New Street Station. 'Staying Cool Apartments' have got apartments to lease in Barcelona, Manchester and Birmingham (although the Manchester ones are all fully leased for the remainder of the year). In Birmingham, they have a large chunk of the rotunda. These are available for short-term or long-term lettings. Prices start at £95 per night for the smaller flats and go up to £400 a night for a penthouse suite on weekends. I've only seen one flat so can't comment of the rest. I do guess the view isn't as good the lower down one gets, but from the 20th floor it is amazeballs! Being in a cylindrical building, the flats are Trivial Pursuit (pie, cheese, pizza etc) shaped; from the front door leading out past the living space, and two bedrooms onto a large wide balcony. The style is contemporary chic, monotones of grey with occasional splashes of vibrant colour, dominated by the panoramic view of the city. Not sure why they put fresh oranges in the fridge as a welcome gift, but it's a nice touch. The location of the flats in the Rotunda, is perfect for guests wanting to explore the city, right in the heart of the city centre within easy walking distance of Birmingham's major bus stops, train, and coach stations. read more

I was very lucky to have a night's stay in one of the penthouses- no. 2004, and it was lovely. The best night's sleep I can remember, so quiet up there, and the beds are very very comfortable. The Rotunda boasts the highest open balcony in Birmingham, so the views are really fabulous (although maybe not for the very faint of heart). The penthouse has one wall which is entirely floor to ceiling windows with a panoramic view of Birmingham and the Bullring, including St Martin's church. The apartment has two double (king) bedrooms, each with an en suite. One has a good sized bath with a rain head shower, both have hair dryers and bathrobes. The central living area, which contains a fully equipped kitchen, has a large flat screen TV with Sky TV plus an iPod dock with speakers. It's the little touches, and the service which makes this special. There is milk and oranges (for juicing) in the fridge, mueslis, ground coffee (from Urban Coffee) tea and hot chocolate. It's an eco conscious place with Ecover washing powders for the dishwasher and washing machine, and vegetarian shampoo and soaps. It is immaculately clean and the general manager Gavin is very approachable and helpful. With Twiggy-style models adorning the walls on canvas, if looks very cool too. The next day we felt totally zen. Worth coming back just for that! read more

Stayed here for a weekend on a 3-nights-for-2 deal. We were in a "mini" apartment, and it was small, but perfectly formed. The location is very, very central, in one of the iconic buildings of Birmingham centre. Given that the prices are really rather reasonable. The bed was comfy, and there's lots of little nice features like a computer/TV setup, espresso machine (which was broken and apparently non-replacable), electric juicer, fridge with milk and fresh oranges, french press, etc. They have no phone in the room, but you can borrow a PAYG mobile, which is a nice touch. The sofa was a little too small for two people! The biggest problem we had, though, was the wireless, which is very flaky. They have to sort this out. read more

I am a lucky man indeed. I'd have been delighted to stay in a place this great on a Groupon or a last minute booking. To stay here for a night free of charge thanks to my partner winning a competition just made it an even more amazing night. This review therefore is specifically in relation to the penthouse apartments on floor 20. First off the layout is interesting, looking like an apartment from some shiny Hollywood thriller. Every room has a minimum of two entrances meaning a lot of fun was had just hurtling around the corridors like some endless chase movie. Ahem. Anyway moving on... The bed was truly lovely, I awoke from one of the best nights sleep I can remember amazingly refreshed. The total silence from being on the 20th floor contributed to this also, creating a sense of isolation and tranquility as you gaze out on the city far below. When morning came I found myself overlooking the rat race already under way far beneath my feet making it hard to believe it was a Tue and I had to go and join them. Facilities wise there's everything you'd need for a short stay (cooker, washing machine, fridge and freezer) plus a few luxurious extras: an electric juicer (complete with oranges!), a huge TV and a dock for older iPhones (didn't support my 6 unfortunately but small moans). There's also a generous supply of good, natural products (the citrus body wash was really quite lush), excellent coffee and hot chocolate and some top notch muesli mixes and milk for breakfast. The balcony with its stunning views was the highlight however, a huge panoramic view occupying the entire outer wall of the apartment. Massive sliding doors lead out to a solid decking balcony with heavy duty but transparent glass railing meaning an almost unobstructed view of the majority of Edgbaston, Digbeth and the Bullring/New St area of the city centre. It was breathtaking and long stretches of the night were spent just taking pictures and breathing the chill fresh air. Marvellous for mind and body. So enjoyable was this stay that we have discussed coming back, which considering we're both Brum residents says much about how much of an oasis this stay was in the midst of an otherwise busy city centre. It's not cheap as you'd expect and so would therefore definitely be an occasional treat only but there's nothing else I can really imagine comparing in Birmingham centre without costing you a lot more. read more

The reception was efficient and very friendly. We arrived early and were offered to hold our luggage behind the reception desk. Most appreciated. Check-in was swift and pleasant. Four couples checked in in a matter of minutes. The suite was large and airy with enough accommodation for four people. Two bathrooms, one with a shower, the other with a bath. Being in the middle of the City meant that everything was within walking distance. The Suite was so quiet with huge picture windows The view was magnificent over Birmingham City. Daytime and night-time. No gym, restaurant or Jacuzzi but the oranges provided and the juicing machine together with milk more than made up for that. The suite had a washer/dryer, dishwasher and oven with hob. Cooking was an absolute pleasure. Making drinks, tea, coffee and hot chocolate we a pleasure, there being more than sufficient to last us. The concierge and security gave a good feeling, knowing both were available if needed. Thank you Staying Cool so much for making our stay so pleasant. We shall so be back for our honeymoon now we know the quality of the accommodation. read more

Whether you're entertaining (or plan to), or just staying overnight, this place is without a doubt the best place in Birmingham to climb into a bed. It's a classy and quiet apartment, kitchen/living area and bedroom with amazing views over Birmingham. Concierge is friendly and reception is easy to find (it's diagonally opposite Waterstones and next to what is currently Carphone Warehouse, I think) and we were directed to the lift lobby, up the speedy lifts and into the room within minutes. Inside the rooms are very plush; modern decor, balcony on the 20th floor for the penthouse apartments, huge TV (sofa wasn't massively comfortable but I think that was just my taste for slouching) and everywhere was very clean and welcoming. Fridge, freezer, oven and hob all provided so you can look after yourself. Marks and Spencer is a very short walk away, so get yourself some posh provisions, cook it in your plush pad, and get some peace and quiet in the coolest place in Brum. read more

The best place to stay in Birmingham. Excellent location in the centre of everything and just a few minutes walk from the railway stations but also comfortable beds, well-designed space, friendly and helpful staff but most of all the stunning view. We loved everything about our room - large double bed, well-equipped kitchen, elegant sofa and dining area by the huge floor to ceiling windows, dressing gowns and breakfast supplied. From check-in at 3pm to check-out at midday we hardly left the room. No restaurant could have provided such comfort and superb view. We had to drag ourselves away and look forward to going back. We need more hotels like this in every city. read more

My friends rented one of these apartments for my birthday last year so I spent a bit of time there. They are so nicely decorated and the views from high up in the Rotunda are great. Fresh oranges are supplied, along with a juicer; this is a nice touch and definitely helps with the hangover. I think the room cost around £99 for the night. These apartments are great for couples. Very chic but still romantic with the city view at night time. read more

Hello there, I am writing this review about staying cool hotel... Me and the Mrs stopped there but really where do I start, The hotel is perfect, by far the best I have ever stopped in. We stopped In the clubman room, floor 18.. The views was just breath taking..amazing!! The room was huge, stylish. Bed was so comfortable, kitchen with everything... It is really like they thought of everything, games, Sky with every channel, DVD player, magazines, dock station, ironing board, iron, stunning shower gel and shampoo .. Not the cheap ones, hair dryer, robe towels, big flat screen TV, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, they even had fresh oranges for us to make orange juice with the machine.. Little notes all around the room to know what's where with nice sentences ..The list goes on.. View was to die for and the room just topped it.. Was unreal!! The reception service was respectful and really welcoming when we entered the building.. And as we was leaving.
