The sign for Station Fish and Chips is nothing flashy; the name is written in a fancy font and there are a couple of fishes either side of the name hinting at something a bit more playful, but overall it's a pretty simple shop front.
Inside, the décor is similarly plain and simple and though it looks pretty dull, interior design isn't the main reason you go into a chippy. As its name suggest, Station Fish and Chips is just around the corner from Maghull train station, making it a perfect stop off shortly before or after a train journey (make sure you don't spend too much time at the station itself, though).
The food in Station Fish and Chips is nothing inventive or original; as the name suggests, they offer your favourite chippy treats, but all of it is made to a very high standard. The chips in particular there are beautifully fluffy and crunchy, just the right mix. The fish there is also of a particularly nice as it is deliciously thick and full of flavour.
Station Fish and Chips is just one of many chippies in the area, but I would definitely recommend it as one of the best around. read more
