100% recommend. All I can say is WOW. This was a service I never knew I wanted or needed so…read moregreatly. Robin was an angel and a confidant. Real and trustworthy. She was there for me, my son, and my husband before, during, and after birth. Having her as part of my birth story will be something I'm forever grateful for and if I'm blessed enough to have another child, I'll want her on my team again. Ps: She offered to snap photos of when I gave birth, capturing moments I would never have had without her. What a gift.

I really wanted a great doula for a complicated pregnancy. But Robin slept through my son's birth,…read moreeven after I told her at 5 pm I was checking into the hospital the week of my due date. When I talked to Robin, she said she was at an event and didn't have a car with her so she couldn't leave to come to the hospital at that time, because she was dependant on someone else for a ride. She assured me she would come and said she'd never slept through a birth. She also told me most mothers labor for 12+ hours and not to worry since I wasn't dilated at all. I was given Cervidil. In the middle of the night my son's heart rate started dropping. Cervidil was removed, my son's heart rate stabilized and I was given two options: Do a more controlled C-section or try to labor longer and then likely have an emergency C-section. I tried to get ahold of Robin. She slept through the text and phone call. So I opted to do a more controlled C-section which took a while since I couldn't have an epidural and it took more than 30 minutes for the spinal to take. Robin never showed up to the hospital and it took weeks, months, to get a partial refund. I never got a full refund. She also didn't call a back-up doula. She made a really frustrating situation -- of sleeping through my son's birth -- even worse by having to spent weeks of back and forth emails (and my son was a NICU baby) trying to get some of my money back. More troubling she also sent an NDA to me -- which I didn't sign -- to try and make sure this wasn't disclosed. Accidents happen but the follow-up was more problematic. Yes, her father died in the weeks after my son's birth and that is awful, but sending an NDA to try and cover-up the situation of sleeping through a birth was really awful and weeks of emails to get a partial refund difficult as I was recovering from a difficult pregnancy and delivery was troublesome. This happened in the summer of 2017. It's taken me a long time to process everything. I'm sure most births aren't like this, but other expectant moms need to be aware. I would hate for anyone else to go through something like this.

Lexi's style really appealed to me because she was very interested in understanding our needs and wants during the birth. I appreciated our conversations around identifying what was most important to me during the birth so that in the event things did not go as planned, we would know what those pieces were and she would help us to advocate and protect those things. Lexi was amazing at the birth - she was so supportive and reassuring throughout the process and continued to offer up new ideas, offerings and positions as we moved through the birth process - e.g. do you want to try the peanut ball?, does a massage sound okay right now?, do essential oils sound good? etc. It was so helpful to have her support and my husband who was initially skeptical of having someone else at our birth walked away from the experience and said that he was so glad Lexi was there with us.

I am so glad I sought out a doula when I did and was able to connect with Lexi! She made me feel so at ease from our first meeting and I honestly can't imagine my birth story without her. She was incredibly supportive and was literally at my side every step of the way making sure my needs were met and my voice was being heard. She not only helped me but my boyfriend as well and I honestly couldn't have asked for anything more. She exceeded our expectations and I will definitely be recommending her. Thank you for being the greatest Lexi!

They supported me through my entire prenatal, birth, and postpartum journey with such steady care. When the Birth Center of Chicago temporarily closed due to a staffing shortage, I had to transfer to Burr Ridge Birth Center (also wonderful!). Amber and Rebekkah ensured the transition was completely seamless, and I still felt fully supported during such a major change at seven months pregnant. Throughout my pregnancy, they offered calm reassurance and evidence-based guidance that truly prepared me for birth. I felt confident, grounded, and ready. Rebekkah attended my birth and later encapsulated my placenta--she even delivered the capsules with homemade cookies. During labor, her clear explanations of what was happening helped me stay present, focused, and connected to what my body was capable of. I'm endlessly grateful that I found them. I cannot recommend this doula team enough!

I attended RCC for 2.5 years for the Vet Tech program. It has it's pros and it has it's cons…read more PROS: -Instructors are very nice. If you are there to learn and you're determined, you will get the attention and help you need to succeed. If you are there and do not try your hardest, instructors will not go out of their way to assist you in your future. I loved all of my vet tech instructors. -It is challenging. I was not expecting such an extensive program given that it is Rockford. I was TOTALLY wrong. This is possibly the hardest program/educational course I have ever gone through. This program will pick out your weaknesses and you will need to study your butt off. This isn't a program that you can just sit back and relax in. -Price is fairly cheap. Now, given that I started the program when tuition was $36k for the entire program, RCC has made changes so those with some financial trouble are able to attend. I believe it is now $160 for each credit hour? Don't take my word for it, but prices have dropped. CONS: -Vet Tech program changed about 2-3 times while I was attending classes there. The school was undergoing some changes and that caused me to have a later graduation date than originally stated, which in turn made me upset. I was set to finish the program in December, but instead, now finishing in March. It may not seem like a huge deal, but after so long in the program, I was ready to be done. -Everyone in power is hard to get in touch with. Several times my father has tried to get in touch with the financial adviser at RCC and will not get a call back. Same goes with e-mail to some of the staff and program director. I understand that there are several students to get in touch with, but speed should be improving, especially since RCC is growing. -Staff is sometimes unpleasant. There have been several instances where I have come in contact with some grumpy people. My fellow vet tech student ordered Jimmy Johns to have delivered to the front desk so she could eat lunch during our 12 hour day in the vet tech department. When Jimmy Johns arrived, the "manager" Dewey, basically yelled at my friend that ordering food and having the front desk assistant notify her when her food was there is unacceptable and is not allowed to be done. I understand how this can be a problem, but it was like the umpteenth time she had done this. And Jackie at the front is not always so peachy. There have been a few times she has made me sign in when I had forgotten my ID. She clearly knows me, as I have been going there for 2 years. But she is never really pleasant to me, -The front doors are open a majority of the time. We are given ID badges when we first sign up for our program and they are to be used and warn at all times. There is no need of the badges if the front doors are always open to intruders. And of course, when they do close the doors, I forget my badge, and I get blamed for not having my ID the one day they DO decide to close the doors. RCC is in Rockford and Rockford isn't really all that safe. Those doors should be close all the time except for orientation. It wasn't my favorite school, but I am glad to have gone through the Vet Tech program. Would highly recommend the program, not necessarily the school. Happy to be graduating in MARCH!
