I can usually get the kids in within 48 hours and they always have a clinic open somewhere on a Saturday. Typical wait time is no more than 10-20 minutes which I don't mind bc dr tony takes his time and is very thorough. The office almost always calls us to check on my kids the next day which I think is very nice of them.

I needed to get my son's second round of shot for the flu vaccine. When I made the appointment I specifically told them what I needed to get,and they set up my appointment and just told me to bring in his shot records. I arrived there before my appointment time and waited for 30 minutes before a nurse came out and told me that my son could not get his shot there because he has never been seen there before and I needed to go back to the doctor I had originally gotten the shot from. I told her that we moved down here from the Tampa area so I couldnt' go back to his original doctor, I showed her his shot records from that doctor, with the doctor's name on it and his phone number, and she still said no. So I said, ok if he needs to be seen, how about you see him now, and she said no you need to setup another appointment. So I was really ticked off at that point and said forget it, I will not be coming back to this practice. Thank you for wasting my time and making me work late for nothing.

I've had three of my four children at Island Coast Pediatrics for the last four years and, until…read morerecently, we had stayed with the practice because the doctors themselves were knowledgeable and helpful. However, my youngest son who was born last year had a less than compassionate experience with the nursing staff during his vaccines. The way he was handled felt rushed and lacking in the comfort and care I'd expect for an infant, which led me to transfer only him to a different pediatrician in May. I made it very clear during that transfer through both email and the patient portal that I was only removing my youngest child, and not my three older children. The office even confirmed in writing that my older children would remain patients at Island Coast. Fast forward to this month, I tried to schedule their annual physicals, and I was shocked to be told via text message that none of my children are considered patients anymore. Apparently, when I transferred my youngest son, all of my children were dismissed from the practice without any communication, warning, or written policy stating this would happen. I reviewed every document I've ever signed and combed their website for any mention of this "policy," and found nothing. When I called the office, the staff didn't even know about this rule until a supervisor confirmed it. I eventually spoke with the supervisor directly, and while she acknowledged that there's nothing in writing or online to support this policy and that it should have been communicated to me she still stood by the decision and said there was nothing she could do. She did say she would try to get this policy documented for other parents moving forward, but unfortunately that does nothing to fix how poorly this was handled for our family. We are now forced to find a new pediatrician for all of our children with no notice, and after years of being loyal patients. Even if they had allowed my children to remain, I would not have continued with the practice due to the way I was treated dismissed without explanation and left to navigate the consequences on my own. I'm deeply disappointed in how Island Coast Pediatrics handled this situation, and I hope no other family has to go through the confusion and frustration we did.

I was able to sit in the sound booth with her with the answers in front of me and could see all the mistakes she made in real time. She completed the auditory therapy sessions via Zoom with Dr. Erik who is also amazing. Our daughter made so much progress since completing the program! We feel there needs to be more awareness about APD. If you have any suspicion that you or your child may show signs of having APD, contact Dr. Cohen! She is amazing! You won't be sorry.
