I had two appointments with this guy about 9 months ago. ( I decided to withhold any opinion of him until i finally found out for sure what my specific physical issue was.) Starsiak didnt do any kind of x rays, scans, or measurements, nor did he prescribe any drugs, which is great. I am not one for allopathic modalities such as scans, drugs, surgeries, etc. But Starsiak did not administer anything meaningful either, such as physical adjustments nor prescribing exercises and techniques. What he did was basically laid hands on me for about 45 minutes, and then gas lit me on what he thought was the root of my issues. He parroted back to me what i had already told him during the evaluation phase, but he added a layer of osteopathic jargon to the parroting, maybe to give an air of legitimacy. The ambiance of the office is nice - - because I will say that the decor of the office and examination room are very comforting and conducive to relaxation. But from my experience, he is not psychic nor does he have special healing powers. I chose Starsiak in the first place because i had read such good reviews about him. So I gave Starsiak a shot, but sadly it was a total waste of money and time and his services are not cheap . I should blame myself for the lack of results because I apparently do not have a strong enough self healing imagination. Or maybe the guy just did not like me personally when he met me, so he decided to not grace me with his special healing powers? But he did accept my payment for services so I don't know, it is just a mystery to me why there are so many positive reviews from various individuals opining that Starsiak is a legit healer. I advise anyone that has cranial or musculoskeletal issues to get physical therapy from a PRI practitioner (Physical Restoration Institute). PRI is the future of physical therapy. I have tried all kinds of stuff over the past 30 years, and PRI is the way to go. But there are no PRI practitioners in Indianapolis because the modality is fairly young, and was founded only about 40 years. The nearest ones are in Chicago, Louisville, and Cincinnati. read more

As someone who has a strong passion for physical activity, I've unfortunately had increasing amounts of pain throughout my body. I've been though many different types of treatment for my pain, but until recently, I had never considered osteopathic manipulations. However, after listening to Dr. Starsiak on the "Another Day of Living Show," I realized that Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM) may be the answer for me. When I saw Sr. Starsiak the first time I had been in pain for months after a car accident that left my car with $ 20,000 in damages. After hitting my car the offender careened off my car and hit a second car before coming to a stop. I had been seeing a local Chiropractor and his Massage Therapist to the tune of thousands of dollars and many appointments. He ultimately concluded that I was as good as I could be. (Suffering from a constant deep ache that included my head, neck, back and hips.) I could not sleep and the relentless constant deep ache had sucked all energy and joy from my life. As a former female police officer. I spent many hours in a car patrolling the streets of Indy, and later in my career, working at a desk. I suffer from pain all over, but most prevalent is my lower back and hips. My physical trainer recommended Dr. Starciak. From the moment I met him I felt comfortable. Dr. Starsiak used indirect techniques (painless) to help me regain function in my back and feet after I was debilitated by pain. He is very effective. After a few sessions my pain was gone (until I my bad habits had me knocking on his door a few months later.) That is one of the things I like about working with DOs that do manipulative medicine. Their training is just that good- by being able to figure out the structural cause of pain or reduced functioning they get it right the first time :) Dr. Starsiak is surprisingly humble/down to earth considering his unique talent and knowledge- this made it easy to feel heard and follow his recommendations. I can't recommend Dr. Starsiak enough - although my job is primarily sitting, I had been working out with a personal trainer, and also going through a lot of personal stress. After 2 very long car trips, constant pain in my middle back and a flare-up of my plantar fasciitis, I sought his help. I was referred to Dr. Starsiak by a friend after complaining about some neck and back pain. Since I am from Indianapolis, I had a chance to visit the clinic twice on a recent trip home. I was really amazed not only by the treatment but also by the amount of information William was able to garner about my personal history just through the treatment itself. He discovered things that I had either forgotten about or perhaps not even noticed when they occurred. For example, I have evidence of severe sprains in both of my ankles, however I don't recall injuring them specifically. But, when explained, it made a lot of sense in that my feet do move a peculiar way when I walk, which Dr. Starsiak explained was a result of the spraining. He gave my neck muscles a chance to rest, which allowed them to move back into the positions they are supposed to be in, rather than the positions they had moved themselves into as a result of my collarbone issue. (Forgive me if I'm re-explaining this incorrectly William, but it was just really interesting to hear). Anyhow, I also went into the first treatment with a pretty significant headache, which I had been taking tylenol for to no avail, and that was completely relieved upon receiving the treatment, and I left feeling great. I could describe it almost like yoga in that you don't necessarily feel your muscles working or being moved around, however the next day I definitely felt the treatment, and I slept great that night. I think it's important to mention that William is a really warm person who allows you to really relax. There are paper cranes hanging from the ceiling which I really enjoyed, and we listened to some jazz upon my request. I can't recommend him enough if you are experiencing pain that has been unable to be relieved in a different way, or if you are perhaps wondering why you are in pain in the first place.
