I must admit that I fit the stereotype of women who hate going to building supplies shop. I feel…read morelost there, not knowing what to do - but being adult these days means that you have to take care of your own things even if it includes broken cupboard door, then so be it. Silvan is probably the most "expensive" shop of all building supplies shops in Denmark, but they have more "service" as in you could ask the workers there to give you advice on what to get to fix your problem, something that you might not be able to do in other "discount" building supplies shops. Silvan in Fisketorvet is not particularly big, but again they're in a shopping mall, so that's excusable. I'd rather go here than go all the way to Glostrup, Tårnby or wherever the warehouses are usually located. It's conveniently close and you can shop a set of wrench along with a pair of jeans and that's rather appealing LOL The workers are friendly and helpful, so do ask them if you need help or unsure which parts that you need. I need advice on some hinges and screws, so I got perfectly good advice and with those I could fix my stuff. Three stars don't mean it's bad, it's just mean that I'm not a fan of building supplies in general and this place is rather crowded with the workers scattered around the place.

I have to go to SILVAN Fisketorvet because I don't have a car and I live close by, and I do have an…read moreapartment that needs some extra love and care.. Most of the staff there try to help you, but do not go out of their way to help you, but aren't rude either. The problem is probably that many of them do not know enough to always be of any help. Maybe because they are under 18 years. I like that they often have a cheaper version and a more expensive version to choose from. Too bad that the cheaper version often is so bad that you may not just buy it any case. Last time I was there I asked for help to fetch something off a high shelf. The young man that helped me, sure did help me, but did nothing to take the edge of my embarassment from asking for help with such a task. 2 weeks ago I made a purchase online, a "minidrivhus" to be picked up at the store. It costed 75 kr, and it said 18 items were available in stock. Then 1 week later they call me to inform that the item was sold out, and that the homepage was not reflecting the stock properly. They offer to return my money. So I order it from Silvan online instead, paying 60 kr in p&p. Then the very same day that I pick the item up from Fötex Fisketorvet (they have post service), I see the same item now in stock at Silvan Fisketorvet. Was it really so hard to inform me that if I would wait a week they would have it in stock again, and save me those 60 kr for p&p?? So, Silvan is really a do it yourself store. You have to do everything yourself. Well. Mostly anyway.
