Best thing was the house was big enough for my husband, me, our son and daughter and her young family. First, owner, Nancy, was the best in helping us decide just which of their 3 gorgeous homes would be the best fit for our family. Any question I had she was spot on with a quick response. She also gave us great recommendations of things our picky family would enjoy. Her website also offers insiders guides with so many options we were never without something to do. It was one of the most stress-free trips we've taken. The home's amenities were just incredible and the decor so bright and charming. We certainly were living liking kings. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen well equipped. And I even got a cook's holiday, enjoying dinner at the Sandbar- the shrimp was to die for. My husband and son were in heaven sitting on the dock fishing together. That made the whole vacation for them. Of course, we took the obligatory photos of swimming in the heated pool to send back to the relatives to make them envious- though I preferred the hot tub. The grandkids thoroughly enjoyed spending each day at the beach. We've definitely decided to return for another family reunion. And with luck may be able to talk my niece into selecting Ana Marie Island for her destination wedding.

4th rental home My husband and I have stayed at on AMI. They all have pros and cons but this one…read morehas been ultimately a horrid experience. First off the sheets were really dirty upon arrival, cruddy, hairy, ear wax particles, bodily fluid stains, greasy comforter, and even a variety of bugs...the worst. Two of the main beds of a 4 bedroom home we couldn't utilize until the following night. The linen company came out and fixed it the next day so I was pleased with that, however then the bug problem. Two large different kinds of roaches inside (Has me worrying I need to fumigate my luggage before I go back home) and first time I've ever been bit up so bad on this island. Love bugs a nuisance, but there are millipedes, mosquitos, small silver bugs and bug bait in the utensil drawer. I know the other properties we stayed at sprayed regularly so we never experienced this before. Additionally we came from almost a week in Orlando with no big problems whatsoever or bites- this isn't just typical buggy Florida. There were ant hills all over the patio near pool my husband tried to wash away. The layout is perfect for us and has mostly positives, but the negatives are killing a trip we've been looking forward to for a long time. The dishes in the cabinets were dirty upon arrival, the rental company left us a gift of paper towels and dishwasher soap (how ironic) to wash the dishes someone else dirtied. There were towels in the dryer that again I had to fold and put away. Now I'm washing pillowcases I smashed bugs on. The curtains in the master shower are moldy. The floors were dirty upon arrival also, someone else's q tips on bathroom floor, rug by bed had not been vacuumed. Now the worst part is nobody has come to clean the pool. The pool is cloudy and dirty with lots of bugs and a nasty film floating on top. The rental company says it's cleaned every Thursday so that means we began with a dirty pool from other folks and it's just not even usable anymore. I'm pregnant and will not put my 4 year old in that pool. Other homes we booked have the pool cleaned twice a week and never had any issues with dirty pools. At first my husband and I loved the layout without knowing what our stay would entail and thought we'd want to come back again not anticipating these deal breakers, and we noticed the new management company jacked the rates up several hundred dollars prob to pay for their call center in Seattle. The Owner has not been able to solve these large issues quickly- they are too busy trying to find cheaper pest companies while we have to worry about killing mosquitos and cockroaches in or beds tonight and can't use the pool we payed for a week of. The other homes we have rented left instructions and helpful info, the days to expect the pool cleaner, how to turn on hot tub, etc., they left nothing, but just informed half way through our stay it's on some portal. We are so bummed! I wouldn't book another home with the management company as I would prefer a company that has an arrangement when something like this goes wrong they have an agreement with the owner to fix it under a certain amount without question! Anyone who is debating prices while someone's vacation is ruined is pretty awful.

The home is beautiful, luxurious and so comfortable and clean! I was lucky to meet the owners Luke and Lisa, they are the nicest people and take a lot of Pride in their home. They happened to be walking by while I was staying, they are so warm and welcoming and told us some great spots to check out on the island. I know they recently changed management companies so that is probably why Amanda D had such a bad time. I had a completely different positive experience! I have heard many negative reviews about Vacasa (who was the prior management company) we booked through Salty Mermaid Real Estate, which is a small boutique office on Anna Maria Island. It is best to stick with the small boutique companies instead of large corporations, that way you get personalized local service. Amanda D's description is in no way shape or form what I experienced. We found our perfect place, Its a dream! Its spotless, a lot of attention to detail, Centralized location to everything on the north end of the island. Definitely would recommend staying here

However, the ceiling was not aesthetically pleasing and appeared in poor repair. It was great to have a king size bed, however, it was so soft and flimsy that my husband and I had a pretty terrible time sleeping and ended up in quite a bit of back pain. Some of the windows were missing screens, so we couldn't open them without worrying about letting in the bugs and lizards, even though the weather was beautiful outside. The hot water ran out within approximately five minutes every time we tried to take a shower-- which we tried at various times of the day and night. The bathroom window was broken which made it very inconvenient since there was not a ceiling exhaust fan. For nearly $2000 for one week, we expected at minimum a comfortable bed and enough hot water for both of us to take a shower. We may come back to Anna Maria Island again someday, but we will definitely stay somewhere else. We looked up the property next-door, and it was fully renovated with its own heated pool, three bedrooms, and two bathrooms, large common areas, pool table and more for only $1000 more.

Well unfortunately that's kind of where it stops. This home is on Pristine land over looking the beautiful Tampa Bay and the property is NOT well maintained. We called this Anna Maria Vacations Rental company several times with nothing but excuses and rude behavior trying to get the many, many problems solved. When your spending your hard earned money on something this extravagant you expect things to be almost perfect with nothing to worry about. Many of the amenities are old and in need of repair, well replaced honestly. There shouldn't be bird excrement all over the windows that you've paid for so that you can enjoy the views. The Washing machine was filled with so much mold and smelled really bad we almost wanted to vacate the property earlier than expected. First, they don't allow you on the property till 4 pm due to CLEANING BEFORE YOU ARRIVE ((hahaha)) but expect you out by 10AM on departure day. So what are they doing all that time? No one did an inspection prior to our arrive? Something just isn't right here. If they think just because the home has these amazing views that they can get away with inferior accommodations. They had told us after 8 rude phone calls that some one would be out to help between 12-8 pm. Well this maintenance man showed up at 7:50 in the evening to start repairs? Just unacceptable! And still Didn't completed the maintenance issues. This company needs to take a hard look at itself and shame on the owners for allowing this to go on. Slum lords if you ask me!

They have beach umbrellas, bicycles, boogie boards etc. you can take with you to the beach which is just a few steps away. You walk over a ramp and it's there. The pool is heated and nice after a day at the beach. You also get a complimentary ticket for either two free cocktails or one appetizer at the sand bar which is not a far walk on the beach. The food could be better, but the rum buckets are where it's at. They're kinda weak so I always ask for an extra shot of rum. Now the beach. So crystal clear, so warm, just perfect. Reminded me of being in the Caribbean. There are tons of shops and restaurants within walking distance or you can rent a golf cart. We will be making our annual trips here to relax, unwind and take in the beauty that is Anna Maria.

The check-in process was a troublesome, nobody came up to show the house or greet you at all. The management company makes you pick up the keys at a mailbox and then you're on your own. For this level of luxury, a little bit more attention is necessary for the guests. Additionally, management was not very nice over the phone, and its staff was not up to par with the property. If I owned this house, it would definitely be changed management ASAP. As a note, the house has everything you need for the beach (floaties, cart, cooler, etc). We rented out everything to find out that the house was already equipped for this. It would have been nice to know in advance. One downside is the lack of access to the poolside bathroom area, as you have to go into the house to use it. Also, make sure to bring repellant if you plan to be outside as mosquitoes are honestly horrid.

We will NEVER rent this house again. For starters, the kitchen was minimally stocked... Just the required pots, pans, dishes and glassware, but NO serving dishes, platters, etc. We assume their personal serving pieces were in several kitchen cabinets that were locked. MORE importantly, the owners live in a different country, and manage the electrical system for AMI Beach Home from their home abroad. We were UNABLE to use the SPA for several days while the problem was being DISTANTLY resolved. The MOST significant issue was that we were WITHOUT Wi-Fi for six days, a MAJOR inconvenience to us during our stay . After almost a week of the owner trying to fix the problem from abroad, it was finally resolved. To compensate us for our inconvenience at this premier rental, the owners reluctantly but finally agreed to compensate us with a " small gift card to a local restaurant" I will end by saying that my husband and I found this "compensation gift" AN INSULT as we were paying $700+ per night for this premier property Respectfully submitted , Bennett Prichard
