This review is for InterRent at Malpensa in Italy…read more I travel quite a bit around the world, and renting a car can be a rather unpleasant experience after a long intercontinental flight. Rental cars know it and they take advantage of the fact that you are cranky, don't feel like fighting and just want to get to your hotel and a reinvigorating shower. I travel quite a bit to Malpensa too...and I rate renting a car at Malpensa as the most horrifying experience one can have at a car rental in any western country. It'a a crappy office at the airport, too small and too hot to accommodate all the car rentals that it needs to house. There are too many passengers with lots of suitcases overcrowding the already small place. One has to wait for hours to be called and the wait is the most unpleasant one most likely spend leaning on one's own luggage. Generally speaking pretty much everybody one has to deal with is rude or just indifferent at best... All of that just goes out of the window and gets replaced by a pleasant breeze caressing your face when you rent from InterRent. InterRent at Malpensa (Italy) is not at the airport, but nearby. One does not even go near the crazy car rental office I've just described and does not deal with any of that nonsense because one gets picked up by an InterRent shuttle and brought to the car depot where there is maybe two customers instead of twenty in front of you, and one can even rent a car online at their office by dealing with a remote agent instead of waiting for the agent behind the counter to finish. The depot is located in a quiet location nearby, no noise, no traffic, no nothing unpleasant. Once on the highway it is actually easier to get away and to your destination than it is from Malpensa. The agents are extremely pleasant, offer you choices rather than imposing on you cars you don't want. They even ask you what color you want your car to be an give you options. They explain to you what all the "additional" charges we are so familiar with are and do not pressure you into taking them all. They are very easy going and quite lenient when returning the car. Renting a car from InterRent at Malpensa is almost something to look forward to...and nobody looks forward to the ordeal of having to pickup a car just off a plane after a long flight.

Second, if a customer says the car's clutch is not working properly, you should replace the car immediately and not suggest to "push it a little harder". Third, since you're basically forcing people to buy insurance from you, you should at least have a good one: instead of making someone wait in the middle of the road for tow for an hour, and then another hour for a taxi, maybe just take a new car to the customer right away. And maybe don't charge them for the tank not being full, you know the car not being able to work and all. I don't think I was expected to drag it to the nearest gas station, was I? Overall super disappointed in the whole service, never using it again, never recommending it to any one. Specially not in Portugal. Aside from one employee, not only was everyone super unprofessional, they were rude and impolite as well.
