Bovelli is a lounge that makes both high-end cocktails (think: Simplon) and tasty espresso drinks (think: Benzin & Koffein). To be frank, they had me at Sipsmith's Sloe gin. It must be said that the young woman who waited on me was quite friendly and understands how one builds clientele. However, it must also be said that I've experienced there a bit of pomposity the likes of which I've seen back home. (Ritual on Valencia in SF, anyone?) Just because you work/own a bar, doesn't mean that my opinion on spirits/cocktails is shite. And, if you insist that I don't know squat, then at least have the courtesy of disguising it. During especially good weather, they also run a grill --- the Cervelat sausage is cheap, as usual. Two mustard choices --- the hot isn't as hot as Sternen Grill, but it's a start. Like many outdoorsy-places, they crank the deposit on bottles up to CHF 1. to make sure you don't leave them in the grass (and to make it easier at the cash register).

Zurich is a major stop along the route, when Italian immediately switches to German without warning. At least Starbucks is a reminder of home, and I stopped in to grab a Chai tea latte to keep my fuel reserves up. But remember that Switzerland is CRAZY EXPENSIVE. My Chai tea latte (tall) was about 6.24 euros! Madness! But it was either that or starve so... As for the sweetness and flavor, they did well with my cup! Not too sweet, just right, and I can still taste the Chai. I'm glad there was a Starbucks on our way up north instead of any old gas station pit stop!!

Indoor and outdoor dining. The barista greeted us right away and spoke good English, which made communication easy. Located right across from Zürich HB Train Station - The largest train station in Switzerland. I stopped by this Starbucks briefly to admire the beautiful layout of the interior and catch a quick conversation with local friendly baristas. It was so much fun talking to the locals here and finding out how Starbucks Switzerland differs from other countries I've visited. Although, I didn't get to sit here or grab a drink, it certainly looks like a great, multi-story coffee shop with lots of spaces to relax or catch up on some work. I was running late for my train schedule but I would recommend this place, next time you come to Zürich.

This two-story Starbucks located across from HB Train Station. Once inside, the first floor offers place to order and some seating. They offer galore of amazing baked goods. I ordered, "Chipotle Chicken Baguette." - CHF 7.90 Second floor, offers much more seating options, with windows and that's where I went to enjoy my savory Baguette. I only stopped by for 25 minutes to check out this location and grab a quick bite. Everything from cozy atmosphere to helpful staff, it's worth returning.

I wasn't too disappointed that the apt. I eventually viewed wasn't up to snuff. In any case, I was strolling down a street close to my appt. when I happened upon an image of an Aztec warrior decorating a store front. Initially, I had hoped it was another Latin American food stuffs store, so I slowed my roll to get a better look at the place. Inside stood a bearded dude behind a table/counter in front of an espresso machine. That was the hook. I had to go in and get a good eye-full. Along one side of the shop hung various roasted beans in both 250 & 500 gram increments along the wall for sale. The table-counter took up the bulk of the shop space where one ostensibly orders both beans from bins tucked away in an adjacent room (wasn't offered those, but saw others purchase that way) or helps himself to a bag from the wall offerings. The beans are roasted in a neighboring city and brought to Zuerich for sale. One could also purchase coffee accouterments in store, and, as it is the 21st century, one may also purchase any and all the shop has to offer from their website. Danny, the dude who helped me, makes one feel very welcomed with a warm personality and an ability to 'shoot the shit' that I so enjoy. I could barely understand his dialect, so he said he'd 'try' to speak Hochdeutsch. I think his response was something like, 'you've got to learn!' He's right. *cash only!
