I was driving home from SF and needed to stop for a little pick me up. and a restroom break. This Starbucks is located in a small shopping center with various stores - the parking was a little crowded, but I was eventually able to find a spot. The store is clean and the barista who took my order was quick and friendly. The restroom was nice and clean. There is plenty of space for people to hang out, catch up on some work or just enjoy their treats. My drink came out in about 10 mins and I was back on the road. As I was leaving, I noticed that there were some Tesla chargers in the back of the shopping center - great for anyone who needed a charge! This Starbucks is easily my favorite in our area. It's consistent, fast, the employees are ALWAYS friendly and they make the best drinks out of any local Starbucks baristas by a country mile! Recently, our cups have had little things written on them that are nice, short, and sweet. I'll admit they are a nice thing to read, but today I picked up a drink and the message simply said, "I wrote on your cup". I want to make it abundantly clear that I refuse to give this place any less than 5 stars for what I've already stated, and while I appreciate happy little messages, the way this comes off to me is that these messages have been forced onto the employees as a rather tedious additional task for them to do obligatorily, rather than something they're doing on their own accord. I don't blame them for the cry for help in the least, and while I can see managements point of view, please know that as customers, we're perfectly happy with your employees and their already exemplary track record in regards to their customer service and quality coffee! He didn't have time to look at the drinks or taste them. He just grabbed them came home when he got home. I tried mine and my drink was fine. He tried his, and obviously it wasn't what he wanted. They had made two of the Strato Frappuccino's. he obviously doesn't like Matcha so he was very upset. Starbucks is always hiring New barista's they always have new people at this location. Ever since the arrival of the current Manager, Benita, this store and its staff are happy, helpful and very quick. I was surprised to see the radical up/down of volume. Sometimes 10 people placed their app orders at the same time and 15 minutes later, just one or two. And nowadays there can be no-one in line or five deep! And yet, they handle the high volume in stride and the low volume very fast. Best of all they smile, they say hello, they wish you a good day. And have learned names of their regulars! First time visit to the location, at 7:30am these folks were all hard at work. It was clean and calm, albeit busy. I placed an online order and was greeted immediately by the barista who was handling the pick ups. I waited for my drink as I watched as people came in, say their names for pick ups and the barista immediately found their drink among the 30 others. The barista went out of his way within 2 minutes of me waiting to say that my order was not far behind, just a couple of drinks away. When it was ready, the barista double checked the lid was on tight. My drink was as consistent as always, and that's really all I expect from Starbucks. Busy location in a busy plaza -- parking will be hit or miss, but it is a lot shared by several stores, so maybe you'll get lucky with someone leaving. Decently sized Starbucks with a decent amount of seating - table in the middle is a long picnic table style with stools, but some of the chairs were regular height and way to short for the table (maybe that's why no one else was sitting there...). The cashier was very friendly and quick to help me, though the orders did take quite a while to come out despite there not being that many people inside the store. Only ordered one drink here - the caramel cloud macchiato - I wouldn't recommend it here. It seemed like mostly milk and ice with the cloud cold foam, didn't really taste the espresso or vanilla or caramel. I've had the same drink at other places and it was much better. Overall, it was fine though in general the store could have done with some more bussing and cleanliness. read more

As of today, 12/7/21, this Starbucks location (111 De Anza at Crystal Springs Shopping Ctr.) is mysteriously closed. A note on the door vaguely indicates efforts will be made to reopen but includes no explanation re: the reason for the closure (Covid positive? health dept. issue? recent criminal activity? capital improvements?). Bummer, was my go to when rushing to work nearby. Is (was?) a serviceable Starbucks but I'd echo a previous commenter's review of their pick-up order system. This location is often very busy, the drinks are typically grouped en masse just beyond hands-reach, and the baristas' heads are exploding with orders and backs turned away so it often takes them significant time to notice a customer is present for pick-up and to get the drink to him/her. Other than that, decent operation. If the pick-up system, which I use whenever I visit, can be improved a bit, I'll upgrade to 4 stars (maybe 5 if they really dial it in!). This Starbucks, located off DeAnza Road in the Crystal Springs Village shopping center, is one my wife and I often come to with my elderly mother. Mom is getting on these days, but enjoys a coffee outing. From a pure Starbucks standpoint, this is a good one: staff seems well-trained, any lines move quickly, and I've never had a problem with the drink orders. The primary problem we have is seating: it's hit and miss whether anything will be available. We often come around 4 o'clock, and while there are no lines, there are also no seats. There is a high proportion of individuals versus groups at this Starbucks and the seating is arranged accordingly, like the bench seating along the wall. Unfortunately there are few seating options for groups of three or more. There luckily are five outside tables, and we have used those on occasion. Not the fault of the Starbucks, but parking can be challenging here, in spite of it being in a shopping center. Starbucks has a nice rear entrance, with a long gangway leading into the main coffee shop from the back parking area, that helpfully provides another dimension to the parking search. read more

Very pleased with this Starbucks. They just remodeled and the flow is so much better now! There are plenty of tables and chairs to sit at and the staff is very friendly. I was in today to do some work but was not able to log into their wifi. I asked one of the staff members and she was very eager to help me. She stopped what she was doing behind the counter and went to the table where I was sitting. She looked at my laptop and saw that there was not connection. She then asked another patron who was also on her laptop to see if she had connection. She didn't. The staff member (wish I got her name) said she'll be right back to reboot the system. 5 minutes later, we had connection! She came back to check on us and we thanked her. In addition to the friendly service, the drinks are good too! My kids are definitely happy customers :). read more

This is a really hard time for everyone and the employees at this location actually seem to care and try and be friendly while doing it. Usually, I go here and order with no problem at all. However the last few weeks I noticed and overheard a very uncomfortable comment. Hailey the barista has used the word "r*tard" on multiple occasions while making drinks or directing it towards other workers. What kind of employee believes that is the right term to use at any standpoint. There's much more to vocalize but no enough words can be typed. I can't believe I've never reviewed this Starbucks. It's one of my frequent stops on the highway of life. This Starbucks is located in a busy little shopping center, and has an entrance from the front or the back. There's plenty of seating inside and a cute little patio out front with a few tables for those of us that like to people watch or bring their faithful Fido for a beverage. Consistently, the service here is always better than average. At every visit I've received some sort of extra where they've gone out of their way to make sure I'm a happy customer who feels special. Honestly, they have the customer service thing down! I consider myself to be somewhat of a Starbucks aficionado and this one is on the top of the rung. They get busy. I've had to ask on two occasions after the baked good item I ordered, with my drink becoming ready before a scone from the case or a warmed croissant. I am pretty sure someone has walked off with my order once because they aren't consistent about asking for names. They get busy. They also have a fire place, and somewhere to sit outside, and all the Starbucks stuff. And it's clear that they are staffed well. When it's busy it's always a buzz behind the counter, and everyone is in motion. . And they cannot change how busy they are, but perhaps going back to always asking for a name so items go to the right people would be helpful. I'm only going to write about this one because they don't get my order wrong and they always remember which customer ordered food and who it belongs to. This starbucks has a system that works. Just had an experience I felt needed to be shared. I ordered a cappuccino, tall. The cup was filled with foam and not even an inch of drinkable liquid. I asked the barista, who prepared the beverage, if this was correct and he rudely said...this is a cappuccino, do you know what a cappuccino is? I replied, yes...I order it always and there is ample liquid-this is all foam. I handed him the cup to feel the weight vs actual drinkable fluid. He gave me a rude look and handed my cup back to me. There's no reason for it to be any different than any other suburban Northern California Starbucks, but it seems like there's something in the air. I think I'm good never experiencing either of those things again. i had to be in san mateo for an appt, but didn't want to stop by the one in the downtown area since i'd have to hunt for parking, then pay for the time parked there, and likely walk a bit to the store. so i was happy to find an alternative in the crystal springs area, with a dedicated shopping center parking lot, where i was able to park right in front of the store and stroll in. this sbux was moderately busy at 9am on a tuesday morning, but i didn't wait more than a few minutes to place my order. after ordering, i used the single, unisex restroom around the corner, and when i came out, my order was ready and i was on my way to my appt. customer service was friendly and the staff who helped me informed me that going forward, i could place my order online or use the starbucks app to save time and just stop in to pick it up versus ordering, then waiting. great to know for the future! i like the layout of this starbucks as there is quite a bit of seating inside with some nice, comfy looking couches that i could see myself lounging on with a book or laptop. perhaps next time, when i'm not in a bit of a rush to get to an appt. very convenient to the 92 and 280 freeways, and still only about a 10 minute drive to downtown san mateo. read more
