Starbucks is starbucks everywhere. Maybe but not this one in Merida, Yucatan, Mexico This is a gorgeous location with absolutely no parking on the street. There's parking in the back so w/o charge and guarded so feel confident. There's an entrance from the back which leads into a separate coffee room perfect for work and studying w/o all the noise of the coffee grinding and people on their cell phones There's another door that leads to a connected patio ( highly recommended ) and the area to place your order. Don't overlook the staircase to the back where there's additional space for relaxing and studying and of course drinking coffee What I love is all the regional coffees and eats. This location uses the Chiapas and Guatemala dark roasts which are some of my favs. Don't fret if you don't speak Spanish most of the staff understands English The patio is a must. Nestled in a colonial area of Merida it is a treat to sit and sip on coffee and relax. I had a great sandwich. Egg whites cheese and spinach on a delicious and soft ciabatta roll. Very good No vegan options yet but a good sandwich nonetheless There are a number of Starbucks in Merida so if you have the chance visit this one

This Starbucks is super cute I love when I'm traveling and I see a uniquely built Starbucks. Paola was really nice to me and she made me feel at home, she also speaks English, great for a tourist area. They have outdoor seating and although it's not a small business cafe, it seems like a great spot to hang out and meet people here in Mérida. read more

I remember coming here, once upon a time. It was my excursion to the Yucatan peninsula, sparked by a connection made on Yelp. And I'm glad I did it, as I got to know a whole new place: the city of Merida. Within this great city, lies many great things to see and do. And while it may seem silly to go to a Starbucks while travelling thousands of miles from LA, in reality it was not. Why do I say that? Because this particular location is one of the nicest Starbucks locations that I've ever been to. The building is sizable, and the architecture reflects Merida's mix of contemporary and colonial styles. There is plenty of seating outside, to enjoy the nice weather that you'll find year round in this great city. The baristas here were nice, and I found that the drinks were tastier than the one that I'd get at the SB locations back home. My coffee had a richer taste, and packed a stronger punch, which was exactly what I needed that day. The clientele here consisted of both locals and tourists, and both are pleasant crowds. The place was kept clean throughout, and the surrounding area was nice. While I'm unsure if I'll ever have the pleasure of visiting this great city again, I thank the staff here for making a memorable trip even better. read more

I think that this is because the people who worked there were totally inept. I forget what I wanted, but they didn't have it or prepare it correctly. I left without ordering. Until this experience, I thought that a Starbucks was a Starbucks was a Starbucks. That wasn't the case. read more

Utter chaos! Only 1 customer ahead of us & the associate at the register left to do something else & we waited way too long. Sat at a table outside & there was trash blowing around. There were no clean tables anywhere. read more

This Starbucks is one of the best Starbucks I've ever been to! The workers are incredibly friendly, the space is GIGANTIC (it's like you're in a palace), and the coffee is made to satisfaction. My only complaint would be the temperature inside of this Starbucks gets too cold. It was my go to when I was in Merida read more

I know many look down on the idea of Starbucks, but really, this is one the best Starbucks I have ever been to. It is a beautiful building that keeps the flavor of The Montejo and the staff there are always friendly and welcoming, even to a poor gringo like me with the poorest of Spanish speaking skills. I first found this Starbucks on my vacation last year and no other Starbucks I have found -- be it in the USA or the Arabian Peninsula -- compare to the atmosphere and quality found at this Starbucks. read more
