This branch of Starbucks is located on First Street in Manchester city centre, it is now the 75th branch of the chain I have visited, and this is one of the more hidden and isolated locations in Manchester, it is located fairly close to Home Cinema on First Street, it is also ¼ of a mile away from Deansgate-Castlefield Station, it is within walking distance but still quite a good walk from the city centre, so getting the metro link might be your best option.
Inside, it is quite nice in terms of décor, the store does seem quite modern, with it being open just over a year.
It is a franchise store, yet they still accept Starbucks cards but it Is worth noting this as it works out more expensive here than other stores, hence one might be better off going to another Starbucks branch nearby, with many other stores being located on Deansgate or just off it, on the likes of Mount Street and Quay Street, and a branch opposite Spinningfields on Deansgate itself.
I used my reward which I had obtained for getting 15 stars on my Starbucks card, and I ordered a Venti Iced Caramel Macchiato with the new Butterscotch drizzle to replace the Caramel one, I really did like my drink with Butterscotch and it was a shame this would normally be charged extra and isn't even listed on the menu or the app to order, but the overall drink quality seemed slightly poorer than other branches.
The store was quite quiet on my visit and this was shown as they still sold Christmas flavouring syrups to buy, with a good number of Toffee Nut syrups being sold for £3.75 each.
The staff seemed friendly enough, we talked about how long the store had been open and the Christmas flavours, and overall this was quite a nice branch mainly down to the décor.
I'm struggling to warrant anything over two stars for this branch, I'm sorry to report, despite the cool, modern décor mainly down to slight issues with my drink, only a small selection of food and merchandise being on offer, the location being isolated and hard to find, and of course with so many stores nearby it also is a negative factor that this is a franchise store and charges more, which I don't really find acceptable with probably a dozen or perhaps more other stores in Manchester city centre. read more
