On a cold, rainy, Turkish day nothing hits the spot like a White Choco Mocha! Listening to the 70s classic American rock playing over the speakers, and the environment, it felt just like I was sitting at a Starbucks in the US somewhere. Every friday afternoon for lunch. before or after shopping at Kipa. my habit. But the evening staff is about as rude to a disabled elderly person as you could get. for example after waiting over half an I requested a menu. waited ten minutes more for the menu and ordered peccare minare. another half later I asked where my order was. I told the waiter for or five times in Italian my order and he says I can't hear you. So spoke louder and he saysbe patient and walks away. My waiter comes and says i didn't order anything but was just "practising Italian", no joke. The pasta came barely cooked. uncooked pieces stuck in my teeth. I grew up in a resort hotel. Our executive chef was an internationally famous Italian: manager tells me I was ignorant and did not understand how pasta is cooked and he topped that with personally directed racist insults. My own restaurant was one of the founding members of Philadelphia's South Street Renaissance, and as an anthropologist, one of my research subjects is food culture. Daytime staff has always been more than friendly. But evening and night time staff are repeatedly disrespectful. another example of night time staff disrespect: a large potted plant was parked in front of the door. so that door looked closed. I asked one of the outside waiters for help (I am a disabled veteran) so he became verbally angry and went to the front door which he found was in fact blocked by the potted plant - (this restaurant seems almost daily to rearange seating) - which he somehow blamed me. If you are under 30 the night staff runs altogether to take your order. If you are in your seventies and disabled, they clearly are not interested in your business.
