I like this clinic a lot. It's not overly chaotic like a lot of clinics I've been to. Chase is a very nice and knowledgeable vet tech and he is good with our little poorly bred poodle. We were extremely disappointed. Our 15 year old Whippet needed a follow up exam due to digestive issues and some swelling of the glands around her neck. We had visited a pet hospital the week before and they prescribed meds which seemed to work. This visit to Dr Porter was to be a follow up and chance to establish contact with who we were hoping to be our new Vet. We have no idea what Dr Porter did for an exam as we excluded from the exam room. When he came out the only thing he had to offer was a prescription for more diarrhea meds, which we already had plenty of from the emergency pet vet visit the previous week and those symptoms had stopped. As for the other issues he didn't address them and then he went off on people moving here causing problems. We will not return here and if we could give a 0 stars. Stella was able to get an appointment at Indian Creek Vet Clinic. A very thorough exam was made, blood tests were done, review of her previous med history, including tests and blood tests made. She now has several new meds to address her swollen neck glands and they trimmed her nails. We will be giving them a five star review. read more

Stars Veterinary Clinic is a fake clinic full of incompetent vets, and Dr. Jordon Foo is one of the incompetent vet with fake qualification who only care about moneys. I brought my dog over for her annual vaccine, first time at Stars Vet. Dr Jordon Foo did a general check and suggested a blood test on heart murmur and heart worm as he said my dog heart rythm seems irregular. With the result showing negative on heart worm and BNp=2016 pmol/L, he prescribed my dog pimobendan 2.5mg and Nexguard Spectra. He said is for prevention and good to have. He also emphasis that this medication to eat for life long and should not stop. After that he tricked me to do unnecessary check such as X-Ray and threatening me to hospitalize my dog with them for further inspection. Upon worrying my dog condition, i obliged with his suggestion for further inspection and purchase the prescribed medicine, which the bill costed me S$6800 (5days of hospitalization). However, I did not give my dog any of the medication or Nexguard immediately as she was still healthy running, fantastic appetite and happy girl. But also with fear since doctor said it could prevent her heart murmur taking her life in a long run, I start to give her the pimobendan the Vet prescribed since it indicated "Do Not Stop". The prescription indicated half tablet at least 12 hrs apart and within the 10 days i gave her 8 tablets. Within this 10 days , she still finished her dinner though she seems less active. I was thinking maybe it is the minor side effect of starting on the medication. But after 10 days, she suddenly collapsed, unable to stand up and passed on just like that!! I could not believe and accept the sudden demise of My dog. She was always good and healthy. While my family and I are grieving and crying, unbearable pain to see she suddenly left us without any warning, we suspected the prescription of pimobendan is the cause! I went on to google the death cause by pimobendan and found pimobendan-poisoning!! Dr Jordon Foo just killed my dog due to his incompetent!! read more

We took our small pom here for surgery to get fixed and shots. No issues whatever, but when our little dog got sick and we left messages to try to get her in as she was having diarrhea, no return call. Tried again, no return call. Went online and sent an email and downloaded the AP - finally got a text back and were told that they could not see her essentially for 3 days as they were booked up! They did call after the text trying to make the appointment for 3 days later, but my husband told them that our dog was sick and we coudln't wait. THey would not see her. When you have a dog with diarrhea and vomiting - you would like to see your vet who has seen her before. Our impression is that they are fine with making money off the shots and surgery, but when you really need them, they are unavailable. Will never go back. read more

We took are elderly cat to star veterinary clinic we won't go back. It was a Friday afternoon and we took our cat in for some blood work, they take the animal to "the back" you are not allowed to accompany you your pet to comfort him or her they just snatch the animal from you and take him to the back to do the work. They gouged a big hole in his neck with the clippers and took blood from the jugular because "it's easier" . Instead of trying from his leg first. Our cat is an extremely easy blood draw. The explanation for the hole was that the clippers were just sharpened?! Really?! They told us we have to send out the blood for the test we will call you Monday morning, it's now Wednesday night and after two phone calls to the clinic we still have no results. Additionally, our cat had an upper respiratory infection. The vet said that he could give home an injection or oral antibiotics. He discussed none of the potential side effects; especially for an elderly cat. The injection is called Convenia.... google it! The are adverse side effects & as healthcare providers, if told, we would not have agreed to it. The cost btw is $55. Overall, it was a bad experience. One reviewer mentioned how "cost effective" the clinic was. $232 for a visit, injection & blood draw. Cat had a huge chunk out of his neck, received a controversial injection with possible side effects for months to come, & still no blood test results almost a week later. Got to love it when you take your animal in and the Vet is an incompetent jerk. My Mom's cat had a growth on her neck and wasn't eating. He comes in, touches it, says it isn't cancer and probably should be removed later on if it becomes a hindrance. Labs where drawn and an antibiotic shot given for precautionary measures for a little shy of $200. Then sold an expensive bag of food to see if changing diet would help. Well, three days later they call her and say all labs look great and no further treatment needed. Even documented it on the labs. Fast forward to today...took her to competent vet and had her previous labs sent over. Pancreatic levels elevated, labs weren't normal, spot was cancer, and our beautiful family cat was put down so she wouldn't suffer. Years ago we had the same issue. Brought our dog in for dental work and a couple months later died of mouth cancer. When vet requested the X-rays of the teeth Star had never taken any. You would of thought we would of learned then. Some might think I'm bitter, but facts are facts. If you care about your pets, don't use this vet. I only have one feeling towards Star Vet, but I'll keep it some what professional. I wish I could leave negative stars. read more

I do not know how good of a veterinarian Dr Bruneel is but know that when it comes to dog breeding contracts he is not reliable. We have a male Standard Poodle that invested a fair amount of money to purchase and offered him up for breeding. We were contacted by Dr. Bruneel to breed his female lab/ poodle cross. ( He has seen the pups from one of his previous litters and liked them). We housed his female and breed her with no money down. She went on to have six puppies. Our stud fee of $500 was verbally agreed upon and based upon experience of what each of these six pups could be marketed. Dr. Bruneel has refused to pay even after all the puppies were successfully marketed. He would not even answer my husband's texts. I think if he appreciates being paid by his clients he should also pay those who have provided him with services. What do you think? read more

Vet and staff are very nice as is the clinic; however, we walked away feeling taken advantage of. Our dog's ear meds cost $59 at our old vet. We were charged $130 for the exact same medication. When we called for a recheck a couple weeks later because she was not better they were too busy to see her. We were leaving on a trip so took her back to her old vet. Living in star, I am glad they are around. My cat seems to sees the doc quite a bit these days. We thought she broke her tail, he gave her a thorough examination, her annual examination and the pain medication that went with all the other indignities she had to suffer for $65. The dog had to stay the night but since I was newly employed, they worked around my schedule. Plus my dog was so happy there! Good at getting patients seen quickly but disappointed with their high rates. Went there thinking it might be best to have a regular vet close by that I could take my cat to regularly. One visit was $200 and Dr. B. hardly touched my cat. I won't return. The clinic I've gone to before is much more reasonable in their fees and uses the equivalent of generic medication for common feline ailments that last longer at a far less cost than the medications promoted at SVC. read more

I will say that the care I receive for my pets is good and Dr. Bruneel is very nice. HOWEVER, one of my dogs takes a number of drugs to control seizures and has for 12 years. I have used 1800Petmeds forever and purchased his drugs through them at discount prices. All of the vets that I have used over the years (many of them personal friends) have approved the scripts that to allow me to buy from Petmeds. Dr. Bruneel would not citing "ethics" forcing me to buy through his office, which makes no sense whatsoever. Additionally when I asked him for a prescription that would allow me to buy the phenobarbital from a pharmacy at a reduced cost, he charged me $10, which I thought was pretty ridiculous. Every vet prior has given me a script and encouraged me to buy from a pharmacy where I could get a much cheaper price. Good Vets are a dime a dozen and Dr. Bruneel just lost my three dogs as patients over the $10 script. I hope it was worth it. read more

Worst Veterinary Clinic I have EVER stepped into. The vet barely looked at my puppy after I waited 1 hour in the examination room. I then spent 45 mins waiting to check out in the waiting room while the staff oogled over a purebred pup in another room. When I was finally rung up I was WAY overcharged & a dog training class was pushed on me b/c my puppy is half Husky. Later when my puppy was due for a follow up shot (one that was time sensitive) I was called to reschedule for the next week! read more

You know I read these reviews and I say to myself, "They must be removing all the negative reviews on here." I moved to Star 13 years ago. My family here recommended that I take my pets to Middleton to see Dr. Hall which I did and was very pleased with the service that they received. Well a few years down the line my little cock-a-poo was having a terrible time trying to chew his food. So I decided to take him here to Star. They examined him. Did the work that had to be done and I took him home. Well he was not getting any better and my family didn't tell me at first that he was having seizures. So I left work and drove him to Middleton to see Dr. Hall. He looked in his mouth and called Star Vet. for the x-rays. Well guess what he never took any so he had no idea my dogs mouth was full of cancer. We had to put him down because I couldn't let my dog suffer. Evidently it didn't bother him at all! You would have thought I had learned my lesson. No stupid me brought my cat in because she had a lump on her neck. Now in my defense it had been a few years since I took Rusty in. So off I went and he examined her, felt the lump and he said he was positive it was cancer. But he did give her and antibiotic shot and drew blood. Called be 2 days later and said all tests were fine. This lump was getting bigger and bigger by the day. It cost me 200.00 for her first check up with Star Vet. Which I asked them if I let them have my debit card # could they put it thru on Friday. No problem. Well I don't check my account the way I should, so I am just assuming it was taken care of. Dr Hall asked me to have the blood work tests Faxed to him. Well the said no because I owed them money. They lost the # and never bothered to call me for it again. I pay them, they fax over the papers. They lied to me about the blood tests results. My cat had Cancer and again I left without my pet. Dr. Hall was livid!! He said he wished he had a magic finger that could tell him those kind of things. They incompetence of this Dr. is mind blowing! Thank God he did not become a pediatrician!! So it ended up costing me 456.00 to find out my cat was dying. Was it the money that ticked me off NO. I would pay that in a heart beat to have my animals taken care of properly. But this is my opinion of the Star Vet. You all have your right to yours. But I can honestly say I will never step into his building again!! read more
