Came in as a walk-in on Sunday around 3 and it wasn't too busy. I wanted to try a salon closer to my place and found Star Salon. The shop was clean and had a nice, calm vibe. Angel was awesome! He really listened and gave me great advice on my hair. I got a layered cut with shampoo and blow dry (I have long hair, paid $65 before tip) and I'm super happy with it. This was my first time at Star Salon and I brought my wife for much needed hair cuts before our baby boy comes. Mimi did my hair. Mimi is the best. She's been taking care of my hair since 2021. Met her from a different salon and would follow her again. She always knows what I want. Tristar cut my wife's hair. We both went home happy and feeling beautiful. The place was clean. Mimi and Tristar made us feel so comfortable. They played music and talked to us to entertain us. They also gave us tips to take care of our hair. The salon is also in a great location. It's right next to a bakery so you can grab some pastry and coffee before or after your hair appointment. We paid $60 each for a haircut which is actually cheaper than other salons. I couldn't believe I would be able to go blonde again after having traumatic experience from past hairstylists ruining my hair. Tris told me to trust her and I gave her a shot, she did NOT disappoint! I love love love TRIS! the best hairstylist I've ever had in my life, lemme repeat, IN MY LIFE! Tris is so knowledgeable in color and cut and talks to you about the entire process so you're never lost in the dark. Tris will recommend things to do to achieve the look you are going for, but will always be happy to do it your way as long as you're happy. I think Tris is the first and only hairstylist to ever show me how to "wear" my hair afterwards. Explaining how to style it once I wash my hair, what to do, because in the past I'd just go home and not know what to do! Because processing your hair will take hours and you will most likely get "bored" NOPE, not with Tris. She is super fun to converse with so you'll be very entertained! However, I scheduled another nailed appointment for today and they took a walk in before me knowing I had an appointment. The nail tech who was there was very rude and tried to force me to change my appointment. I explained to her I had prior obligations that I had to take care of so I couldn't change it. I felt they took the walk in over me because I was just getting a pedicure and the other client was getting both. I was treated very unfair. She did not follow the picture that I showed her as an inspo which was medium length and some layers. My hair is still long she only cut probably an inch of my hair then she charged me double the price. insane! never going to this salon again. she did my eyebrows good though. read more
