This used to be my favorite nail place, but unfortunately recently the prices have gone up... While the level of service and quality has gone down. The woman who serviced me didn't say one word, but merely motioned to what she wanted me to do (for example; during the pedicure take my foot out of the water). They seemed to be rushing through my service, and they did my manicure at the same time as the pedicure... Which is not relaxing. I got clear polish on my nails, which started peeling later the same day I had it done.... And the polish on my toes doesn't look like it was applied evenly. Not worth $43. Okay so i have been going here for at least 3 or 4 years to get my nails done! Usually i get almost exactly what i want and i have always felt like I paid a little extra than others but i put up with it because I got what i wanted with my bio gel. HOWEVER on June 14, 2026 i went to get my nails done with BIO-GEL for my Graduation the next day! Letting you know i do my own gel x nails at least once a month and they last forever and i am pretty good at them, but i wanted bio-gel for the summer so they lasted extra long. I went with my two friends and 2/3 of us got men doing our nails, nothing against it but we're both 13 and 14 so take that how you will. I assumed that everyone here was capable of the basics, application, shaping, design. I was terribly wrong. To start it off, my appointment was at 3, my nail tech, I believe his name was Jason, sat down at around 3:30 when my friends nail tips had been glued and filed by now. Not to mention i had multiple women walk past me and ignore me as i waited for a nail tech. Finally Jason sat down and i showed him my inspo. Which is the photo from Pinterest below this. He left for 10 more minutes to pick out the colours (blue and white). FINALLY he sat down with colours and began applying nail tips. I noticed he was putting on full nails instead of just the curved tips. I reminded him that i was getting bio gel and he told me "no no we'll do gel-X it'll get the shape perfect". I continued to tell him and asked him nicely multiple times and he wouldn't listen. The nail tech doing my friends nails as well as my friend also told him and he wouldn't listen. I gave up on asking because he just wouldn't listen so he started and i have done this style of gel X nails on myself and for reference it took me MAX 1.5 hours. Star nails closes at 5pm on sundays. He was doing my nails till 5:50 while i was sitting there as the last person there while other nail techs glared at me and it was SO humiliating, not to mention other nail techs coming by and judging the nails i DIDNT ask for. I am never going back 100%. Go to urban nails not to mention without tip these nails were $140!!!!!! INSANE PRICING! I got plain white bio gel short French tips one time..$120! CRAZY!!!!! Do not go here it's just overpriced mid nails with grown men and women judging teenage girls and women's nails. read more

The first time I went in, I was shocked at how insensitive the male attendant was. His pressure when using the instruments to remove shellac polish was such that I almost drew my hands away several times. He left without a word and another person came to do the polish. I thought I would give them another chance. I went in today after calling to book for for a pedicure. No questions were asked. When I got there (20 minute drive) I was told they didn't have time to do shellac because I didn't say that was what I wanted. Trying to accommodate, I send I would do regular polish but they insisted they didn't have time because they had to remove my polish. No apologies, no empathy, just "next time tell us you want shellac." Of course I told them their wouldn't be a next time. No sensitivity, empathy or regard for my time. I was in the Lindsay facility and there was a male service provider that yelled at a lady for being late to the point of having her in tears. She apologized repeatedly, paid for the service, and offered to rebook. He continued to shame her. When another person attempted to intervene he told them to "mind their own business". This person then asked to speak to the owner and they told her to get out. She did and I left with her. read more

Star Nails always does a great job on my nails. I've been going to them at least once a month for the past year for acrylic nails. They are always friendly and helpful. Every time I've had my nails done at Star Nails I have left happy with very beautiful nails. I highly recommend going to Star Nails for your acrylic nails. I have not tried any of their other services yet but they are very good at acrylics. Every technician does a good job. My nails never break or snap off. read more

I just went there to ask for the price and the guy said it's at the wall and I asked and showed if they have the color I want, he goes no we don't have it and he haven't seen the pictures yet. This people don't want business at all. This place is a joke! I had one appointment booked back in March for a fill and a pedicure. The day before that I was rushed into the hospital in Peterborough suffering with intestinal leakages in two different areas. I have been suffering with this since December 2017. I was on morphene and could not call and tell them I cancelled. I booked the appointment to help me feel better about myself. I have since March have been there 3 different times for full set of nails and pedicures and fills. I had booked an appointment today for Monday. THEY CALLED ME BACK TO TELL ME BECAUSE I MISSED THE MARCH APPOINTMENT THEy HAVE CANCELLED MY MONDAY APPOINTMENT A I CANT HAVE ANY SERVICEs DONE THEIR! I told them my reason and they don't care!! Poor business ethics's, poor compassion, poor quality of work. They rush you in and out and don't think you can walk in for a fill!! They DONT TAKE WALK INs!! Besides all this I am 55 years old and don't appreciate being treated like a child being scolded for not cancelling ONE appointment!!!! Don't wast your time going here!!! read more
