So they played the next best thing... Bob Marley! The music was perfect for the spot and exactly the start to a chill weekend we needed. We split the Lavender Royal City Orchard Cider and ordered a bottle of Crazy Creatures Grüner Veltliner 2023. I'd never had Grüner Veltliner before, and it was lovely. We also ordered the charcuterie board and watermelon salad to nibble on while we drank our wine and just enjoyed ourselves. We stayed for about two hours, and by the time we left, the place was starting to fill up with reservations and walkon patrons. The space is modern, clean and intimate, with a small bar and limited bar seating. It's perfect for date night, birthdays, drinks with the girls, or just a relaxing afternoon with good wine and music. They have a large wine selection, with options by the glass or bottle. And the bathroom is super cute! The walls are lined with old albums, or LPs. I loved that because I have Prince records mounted on the walls of my home gym! Our server was very knowledgeable about the wine list and gave us great food recommendations. He was super attentive without being overbearing. This is such a cute trendy spot. There is plenty of seating overall, but this place is consistently busy, especially during weekend brunch. Given Houston's often extreme weather, I definitely prefer sitting indoors when possible. I almost always order the sausage and eggs over a bed of sweet potato tater tots. They are absolutely delicious! Not many restaurants serve sweet potato tater tots, so whenever I'm craving them, this is one of my go-to spots. Because of my food allergies, I asked for a side of maple syrup instead of their house sauces, and it paired surprisingly well with the tots. While their gluten free and dairy free options are somewhat limited, I was able to modify my meal by omitting the cheese. The hostess was friendly and welcoming, but the waitstaff seemed overwhelmed by how busy the restaurant was. As a result, service wasn't particularly attentive. If you visit during peak brunch hours, I would recommend coming with the expectation that the food is the highlight, while the service may be a bit slower due to the crowds.

Don't buy cigars at this location. I go to this particular Specs because it is close and…read moreconvenient. My issue is with their cigar humidor selections and inventory maintenance. I buy cigars about every other week. I began noticing at check out that the register price and the box price were sometimes different. Sometime as much as $5-$8 difference per cigar. Normally would just ignore it and go about my day. But I started noticing it every time I purchased cigars. I started spot checking and found that on average 6-8 out of 10 sku numbers on the cigar did not match the sku number on the price label on the box. And it is always higher. I figure I have overpaid hundreds of dollars for my cigar purchases at this location. I brought this to the attention of the person that manages the humidor and to the manager. But nothing seems to improve. Its always the same person managing and marking the cigar humidor. They should find someone else to take care of this. I want to get in and out and not have to check every sku to make sure it is priced correctly. Its hard enough reading those small numbers. I have warned my cigar smoking friends and they confirmed my findings. Now we will drive the extra distance to a competitor to make sure we are not getting cheated and overpaying. Buyer beware at this location.
