I'm accustomed to a wider variety than most grocery stores in this area provides. Parking isn't hard to find. They also sell other products and have an atm on site. I come here from time to time when I'm in the area. But otherwise, I might go to the Asian grocery store across from Lowes on Niagara Falls Blvd.

But, after going there about 10 times, I finally began calling. Impossible to find a person that actually speaks English. Also, they only get the exotic fruits about once a month, or less. I bought a bag of mangosteens that had just come in, and every single one was rotten. I did finally buy a Durian. It cost about $75 at $15/pound. And, I bought the smallest one. It was okay, and I satisfied my curiosity. I'd never had it before, but it fit the description from the internet. Unless you're Asian, I would avoid this place. The fish smell alone is enough to make a westerner sick.

Cute little African market that recently opened near me, so I decided to stop in to check it out…read more The cashier was very friendly and helpful. I browsed through the store just to see wjat they carried. They have a variety of merchandise. Food items, beauty products, hair pieces, decorative pieces for the home etc. The food selection is limited but seeing as thry are a speciality market, that is to be expected. They do have some frozen veggies and fish that caught my eye. Other food items inclued canned goods, dried beans, rice, sauces, powders etc that are good for african recipes. Not a great selection of any fresh produce, but I often need just one or 2 tomatoes, and instead of going to the store I can walk here, which I am excited for. The store is clean and the staff inviting. I will definitely be stopping there again on many occassions.

We were greeted with the super friendly welcome upon entering. After wandering through and picking up a few items we headed to the counter and had a great conversation with the owner. She pointed out different ones with stories about these returning children who would be excited to see their picture on the wall and even years later point them out to others. There are hundreds of variety of kimchi made from napa cabbage, radish, scallion, or cucumber as the main ingredient. The most common seasonings include brine, scallions, ginger, garlic, shrimp sauce, oyster sauce, and fish sauce. -Wikipedia on kimchi ************************************** So I really just come to Lin Asian Market for their kimchi. I know it could seem silly to write a review for one item but there's only one other review for this place so I'll just share my experience! It's pretty fun to come here and be the lost minority person walking around as it's located in a pretty diverse part of town and I only see Asians walking in and out. The people here are so kind in helping out though - it's really sweet. The kimchi at Wegman's is pretty pricy so I thought there has to be a cheaper way to get this stuff. I don't see any Koreans at Wegman's (usually) and I know they must be buying it somewhere, right? I came in here and asked if they had it. It's stored in one of the coolers on the back wall and you can get twice as much for the same price here. It's crazy that Wikipedia says there's hundreds of varieties of kimchi. Whatever variety they sell here at Lin is so delicious. I will sometimes just stand in my kitchen eating it out of the jar with a fork. Supposedly there are recipes to use it for? Maybe one day I'll get tired of eating it raw. Plus, fermented foods are so good for you. Like so good. I haven't really tried anything else here. It's predominantly Burmese and Thai food but they carry other Asian specialties like kimchi. The rice bags they sell are of Thai origin. They sell all kinds of Asian produce. Their little produce section has stuff I never see at big grocery stores. Come and check it out - like M J's review said, they are super nice and helpful here.

If you're interested in trying your hand at Burmese or Thai cuisine they've got everything you need at a reasonable price. I'm particularly impressed with the selection of fresh and unique produce. While there are several other shops on the area that sell similar items this store only stocks what it's customers want and they have a lot of them. This assures that you're not buying things that have been sitting on the shelves for years and that the produce is as fresh as can be. Definitely one of my favourite convenience stores in the area and now that it's right next door to one of my favorite restaurants in the area - Xi'an (try the lamb cumin) - I come here even more often. They're pretty friendly and they've got a pretty eclectic crowd coming in and out. Always busy. A little bit run-down but maybe that helps keep their prices down because they're definitely cheaper than 7-Eleven. I've even had a sandwich from here recently when my favorite restaurant is closed down for a few weeks. Not bad at all. My previous review: I used to think this was called "Convent" and would come here looking for cute nuns, because I always wanted to date a Nun, but then who doesn't? I've been to this store many times, as I used to live right around the corner. Lots of cute girls shop at this store (Willow Ridge is the street of cute girls, btw), that is one of my defining memories. Another is that the prices are a little lower than you'd expect for a convenience store in a rich suburb, and they have some more interesting selections. Service is really nice, and after awhile, the guy knew my name. I doubt he does anymore because I moved away. It's a useful convenient store near Willow Ridge on NFB that sells all kinds of random stuff at typically marked up 7-11 prices, and helps the local community avoid trips down to Wegmans and the now-closed Walmart that was close by. It was exactly as the name suggests: convenient. With very friendly employees, too. It loses a star for the high prices but is a solid 4, and is still there, churning out late-night goodies to college kids and locals, not far from the wonderful Seoul Garden and Black Forest Saddler, a horse-seat shop. Oh wait. No. It's Adler. A German restaurant. Yes that's it.
