We looked him up because he was so highly recommended by our pediatrician and found that he works from this office so we decided to make our appointments here. My complaint comes in when we tried to schedule an appointment. They do accept our insurance but we were turned away because they said they need photo identification for my 8 yr old and 11 yr old child. This wasn't mentioned to us until we mentioned our son was Autistic. I have several children and several of my children wear glasses and we have NEVER been asked for identification for our children. We explain we are a homeschool family so there is no way to bring photo I.D. Their response was they will confirm if this will be an issue and call us back to which they never did. We had to call to find out they are refusing services. I have looked everywhere on their website and don't see anywhere on the website that says we will turn you down for services due to lack of identification regardless of age. If their pediatrician who takes a photo for my children's files and can confirm my children's identity is recommending us to a particular Dr that works here why are we being treated with such disregard? Not sure if this is truly a policy because I don't see anywhere on your website other than "we treat you like family" on there or if this is a we don't want your Autistic child here issue which then becomes an even bigger problem. This doesn't feel like proper professional decorum at all. This was our first time dealing with this office my other children have gone to other places and never was I asked for identification at their eye appointments for any of my children. I've asked several other parents and they have stated the same when it comes to making eye appointments for their children. We only tried to go here because our child's pediatrician stated Dr. Dawson is great with children and would be a great choice for our Autistic son. At this point even if the situation is rectified I would never recommend this office just due how it's been handled. I will just go to our usual eye Dr & make sure to let their pediatrician know how Dr. Dawson's office turned away my Autistic son and my daughter due to lack of photo identification with no call back after we were told we would receive a call back to confirm. If this policy is correct please state this on your website. I myself wear glasses and have also never been asked for identification when going to an appointment. I will also be asking in the several autistic support groups & homeschooling groups I am in about this office to find out if this is a pattern from this location or just a personal isolated event.

I got a receipt for $674 for two pairs of glasses one Frame and progressive lenses and it was supposed to be one pair of Bajio sunglasses with bifocal lenses which they have got for me on two previous orders now they claim they cannot get Bajio after the fact and said I only would get the lenses to replace in the sun glasses. After waiting 2 1/2 weeks they contacted me and said that my glasses were done and needed my sunglass frames to put in new lenses. I went to the store today 9/4 and they explained to me they do not carry Bajio sun glasses and cannot get them and can only replace the lenses. My receipt had only lenses but was totally unreadable. I have purchased from them in the past few years in a row. The price of the glasses on my receipt went from $674 for a new frame and lenses to over $754.00 dollars for one pair of glasses. I walked away with only one pair and did not accept the lenses to replace in my sun glasses. This was never explained to me as I was adamant about getting a new pair of the Bajio sun glasses non polarized with the new frame. The people who work at the store tried to tell me that the insurance company would not pay them $400 which is what is allowed, so I called EyeMed today to see if World of Vision put in a claim. They never put the claim in. EyeMed added some notes in the system about this. EyeMed said if you get $400 then world of vision would get $400. I asked EyeMed to deny paying them until World of vision explains this in detail and refunds me for over paying because they changed the price. There explanation is the price changes when insurance is involved total BS. Not sure why I had to pay $244 for the one pair because they changed the price after the fact. They tried to tell me when I was there back on 8/12 that I told them I did not have insurance which is another lie. I called them the next day and explained they need to submit it to EyeMed. Christian said he would let Chris handle it but did see my information for EyeMed. I always had Insurance. This place is a complete fraud. Chris said it's a family owned business now and he is not involved anymore. We are completely done doing business with them. The worst experience dealing with World of Vision.

They have a HUGE selection of dive equipment, sun glasses and sandals snd maybe 5,000 square feet dedicated to swim wear, clothing, surf boards and beach accessories. In addition to retail items they also provide PADI SCUBA instruction, rental SCUBA equipment, equipment repair and service and air fills, including Nitrox.
