I went to the Stanton optical in San Angelo Tx. This place is deceptive with their advertising. I went in and paid for an eye exam for myself and my daughter. The receptionist asked for my information and I provided the information. She couldn't enter the information and yet asked multiple times for the basic information I had already given her. I paid for the exam and glasses and contacts on November 22nd and I was told it would be ready to pick up the order November 26th. So I never heard anything from them on November 26th. I drive by the location and I asked the associate about my order and he tells me that that just shipped and would be in friday November 28th. I drive by the office on November 28th to check the status and the young pregnant lady said the order didn't come in. Well fast forward to December 2nd I get a text that my partial order has arrived and is ready for pick up on my daughter's glasses and my glasses minus the contacts that were still not delivered. I drive 22 miles 1 way to the store in San Angelo Tx to get the glasses. I arrived at the office and I am greeted by the pregnant lady and was asked "what do you want"? That's not professional as I paid hard earned money for glasses and a service to be treated like I am bothering them by my presence. I told her I was there to get 2 of the 3 orders as I received a text 2 of the 3 of the order supposedly arrived. She asked me my name and phone number and I gave her the information and I offered to give her the 2 order numbers I received via text. She she "I don't need that". Well she dissappears for about 15 minutes and comes back and asked me for the order numbers because she wants to be sure Im not taking someone else's glasses order. I gave her the order numbers and she disappeared again for another 5 minutes and comes back with 1 pair of glasses. She said put them on and it's gonna be a fish bowl effect. Every time I tried to tell her the glasses frames were not the ones I originally ordered and the prescription was wrong because I couldn't see with the new glasses she would talk over me or cut me off. She said blink 3 times and give it a week and I will adjust to the new glasses. These things were so bad I had to take them off because I couldn't judge my distance or read anything legible. I got a severe headache and eye strain from the glasses. I go back today December 3rd to get my money back. The heavy set lady did not give me my full amount back. I never received the whole order. The lens and exam were incorrect and wouldnotrefund my exam and said I signed in on an i pad in the vack. Well there was nothingstated or writtenthe exam was non refundable whetheri signeditin the back or the front or on their roof or in the parking lot. She tried every possible way to deter a refund and offered a free exam. Well if they got it wrong from the beginning what makes you think they are gonna make it correct for the "free retest". Well the end of this horrible experience is they did give me a refund receipt but i have not seen the refund go back into my account as I will patiently wait a couple days to see if they will stand by their word. I Highly do not recommend them for exams or eye wear. It's sketchy as there is no doctor to found as the techs are providing the exams and I was under the understanding that you have to be a certified doctor to perform or prescribe Eyewear. read more

I went here as a third option to get lens for my sport glasses, Sam's couldn't do it and eyemart couldn't either. Overall, really good experience. Also, i barely had to wait because there wasn't even a wait time. read more

This was the worst eye exam I've ever had. It was virtual so no one on one FaceTime with an actual doctor so it feels very rushed. I ended up ordering from them and when I went to pic the glasses up the prescription was completely off so they did a different exam and told me they couldn't get my prescription correct. So I asked for my money and personal frames back and they tried to tell me it would take 6 weeks to get refunded. I told them absolutely not. Had them call a manager so I could get my cash back. They tried to talk me into ordering glasses from them after I got a proper exam. NO THANK TOU! I'll take all of my business else where. read more

You shouldn't lie to people tell them you take their insurance then make them make an appointment to purchase glasses . Then when you come to an appointment for just purchasing glasses which makes no sense by the way it's just buying glasses not an eye exam . Then when come to the unnecessary appointment your told we don't take your insurance. So I ask why was I told you do and asked to make an appointment just to purchase glasses . Then I'm told oh well we give a discount . So basically my day was wasted and I was lied to so they could try and make a sale well that's a way to lose a customer. great costumer service I needed glasses to drive soon as I got there within 1015 minutes, I was in getting my eyes checked after about 25 to 30 minutes I was able to pick my glasses however I had to ask if they can have them ready by 8 AM the next morning mind you this was 330. They worked with me on the price. I will definitely go back again. read more

The worst ever. i had appointment at 4PM and waited 45 and left. I am disabled and nowhere to sit. Staff were clueless.

I had scheduled an appointment and was seen immediately. My dad came with me and was seen at the same time without an appointment. Alex was so helpful with selecting our lenses and got us out there very quick. I had a screaming toddler and Alex was very patient with us. read more

I brought in an old pair of frames to have the lenses replaced according to my new perscription (I also had my eye exam at Stanton). Upon picking up my glasses I noticed that they were not fitting as well as they used to, the employee stated that they can adjust my glasses at any time for free in the future, so since they were busy I decided to not say anything and just take my glasses home. Fast forward a couple months and while I was trying to adjust my glasses myself one of the lenses popped out. I called Stanton and scheduled an appointment to have my glasses adjusted and have them put the lens back in place. They popped the lens in place just fine and tightened my glasses, however they were still not fitting correctly. The employee said that's all they could do since I didn't purchase the frame at Stanton and that's what happens to glasses over time. Needless to say I fully believe that they broke my glasses when they replaced the lenses as they fit fine before I had the lenses changed to my new perscription. Then when I tried to have the adjust my glasses after the fact they said they couldn't do anything else. I will be taking my business elsewhere I recommend you do the same. read more

My virtual apt was so much better than my regular Stanton store in Lubbock. The connection was perfect and the people were prompt. I was in and out in 40 min. That's the paper work the set up the exam and picking the frames and paying. Win win situation for me. The people were so friendly and knew their stuff. Here's an update to my last review I finally got my new glasses and my right side is worse than my old glasses and the guy that helped me tried to make me feel like I was stupid I've been wearing progressive lenses for about 30 yrs and he tried telling me you have to get use to them I've been wearing glasses long enough to know that if your glasses make you dizzy then they're not right they tell you to wear them a week or so and if they're still not right to come back well I guess I just lost 400.00 cause I'm not going back read more

They got my prescription wrong on 2 separate exams. The optometrist communicates through a tv, and it just doesn't work well especially when they rush you. Men's restroom was disgusting. Waste of time and money. Pay a little more to go to an optometrist who is actually there with you in person. read more

When I called to set up my appointment I made sure they took my insurance. When I got there, gave them the information about my insurance they said they did not take it. I was not happy about that. The exam was virtual and the doctor asked questions like normal, we went through all the steps to complete the eye exam. The person that helped me choose my frames and lens preference was kind and helpful. She even was able to get me a discount on frame and lens. read more

Worst eye exam EVER! I have worn corrective lenses and or contact lenses since I was 5 yrs old. This "eye exam" was a JOKE! The "DR" is remote and I had what appeared to be a teenager doing my initial exam. When I was done she stammered through the results told me one eye had higher pressure (this can be serious) I asked which one. She had no idea. Handed me a referral sheet not signed by the doctor and if did not state the reason or diagnostics for further exam!!!! I received my glasses (I only wear them few minutes per day as I prefer my contacts. They did not have me try them on to make sure they fit or anything. I got home took my contacts out and literally could not see threw them. Everything was blurry and made me sick to my stomach. Again, I've had corrective eyewear since age 5. This place is a hoax ... no real doctor, no real help, and they advertise specials... yet I kept hearing them quote 300.00-500.00 for glasses! Save yourself the scam and head to a real optometrist! Friendly service, they went above and beyond to help me. I would've given this a 5-star rating had they been actually able to help me 100%. Unfortunately, my eyes are bad enough to require an ophthalmologist. They couldn't really give me the right prescription glasses to fit the prescription I actually need. GREAT PLACE, if your eyes aren't as bad as mine. If you're a +3.00 or greater, find an ophthalmologist to help you. Otherwise, this place is great! Cheaper than most places I've been to my whole life! I usually spend $1500 on 3 pairs. This time, I spent $900 here for 3 pairs. I use high density optics. I have Presbyopia in both eyes, Astigmatism in my right eye, Hypermetropia in my left. Unfortunately, my right eye is pretty bad. The glasses they were able to prescribe me worked for reading with my left...but I still can't read out of my right. I can see distance with both clearly. Everyone at Stanton did their best to assist me. I really appreciate everything they did to try and make my prescription possible, but...unfortunately my right eye is beyond their help. They did help me with my distance vision, at least! Got me a sweet pair of prescription sunglasses! Give these guys a try! read more

Terrible service. Employees with flat affect, no smiles, "no how are you today". They were not rude but I didnt feel welcome for sure. I made an appt with them because they offered one year of contacts plus eye exam for $189. I thought this was a great deal.When I got to my appt, I was told my contacts were not part of this special and they did not take my eye insurance (I have $200 allowance for contacts) I was unhappy but decided to stay for my appt. I should have left because it gets worse. Still not smiling (actually seemed bored) the girl did the first part of my exam (no one explained to me if it was normal or not) and I went in for the virtual exam. After my exam, I went to the cashier (same non smiling person) to pay. My bill was almost $400 dollars for the exam and one year of contacts. I am a nurse but since I have no idea how to read a contact prescription, I did not pay much mind to it. They knew I was wearing a +1 on left and +4.5 on the right. At some point I realized the doctor had prescribed nothing for my left eye and +2.25 on the right. I have been wearing contacts for about 20 years and have been in +1/+4.5 for at least 6 years so now I'm told my 60 year old eyes have IMPROVED???? No, I dont think so!!! I went back and spoke to same girl and asked for a refund stating I was going to have to get another exam. I cannot see with the +2.25. She tells me no refund. So now I'm really regretting my decision to go there. I went to another local eye clinic and told them my predicament. The MD did my exam and prescribed the exact contacts I was wearing at the start of this debacle. He also told me I had cataracts in both eyes and needed to see a surgeon. I then had to go back to Stanton to have them exchange the wrong contacts for the correct ones. Their MD prescribed nothing for my left eye so I had ordered a year for my right eye. I asked for 6mths for left eye and 6 mths for right eye. They wouldnt do this for some reason so I ended up getting one year for right eye and had to go back to the other office and order 12 months for left eye. My charges for my exam + 12 months of contacts was $50!!! If you have stuck around and read my entire rant then I hope you takeaway this: Stanton false advertises and their MD is not observant (haha pardon the pun), and when all is said and done, they are very expensive!!!! read more
