I was having neck issues and sometimes when I walked I'd get this cramp in my lower back side. Before the appt. Dr Ann sat with me and we talked about the issues I had (just like my regular doctor does). I liked that she actually cared to know about my medical history. My other Chiropractor had me fill out a form and did the adjustment. After our talk she explained about ART (Active Release Technology) and how that will help me with my issues and proceed with doing ART. I'm not going to lie as it did hurt at times. But it was one of those hurts that actually feels good too. After she released a bunch of my muscles she did a few adjustments and talked to me again about her findings and suggestions on how I can take care of them. Throughout the whole appt she kept asking me if I was okay and also kept explaining what she was doing. I liked how she was concerned about me and kept me comfortable the whole time. After seeing her for a couple of sessions I haven't been back to her with those problems. BIG ISLAND HAWAII 2023 VACATION #7: NOT WHAT I ORIGINALLY EXPECTED…read more Five years ago I was supposed to stay at Royal Kona Resort, which I planned my itinerary based on that resort. One of the things I wanted to do was get a massage at The Lotus Center located in the Royal Kona Resort. When my cousin and I were not able to stay the Royal Kona Resort I decided not to make a reservation for the massage. Going forward five years later I was able to get an accommodation at Royal Kona Resort. As a guest you get $20 off a 90-minute massage. When I scheduled the appointment I requested for a deep tissue massage at 9:00 AM. On the day of my appointment, which was the Friday during Memorial Day Weekend, I arrived outside the Lotus Center at 8:30 AM and saw nobody outside The Lotus Center. I then called about 15-20 minutes later and spoke with the person I made an appointment with. He stated the masseuse will be there soon; she arrived about less then 10 minutes prior to my scheduled appoint. Before my session started she asked if there are any areas that needed to be worked on. I pointed her to my right knee and right quadriceps were sore. During the session she asked if any time the massage was getting too hard that I should let her know. There were times I felt relaxed I slept a little. The session felt more of Swedish massage instead of the deep tissue massage I requested. At the of the session she worked on my left quadriceps and IT bands. I thought she was going to work on my right knee and quadriceps that were giving me problems, but she never did. Even though as a Royal Kona Resort guest I received a $20 credit for the 90-minute deep tissue session, with tip I paid more than $200. When I pay for a deep tissue massage I should expect that specific type of massage. Five years ago I wanted to get a deep tissue massage at The Lotus Center. Five years later the service that I received didn't meet my expectation.
