The library has a security officer that keeps the over talkative from yapping too loud and will open the locked bathroom for your use.

They have used and brand new books, but buying used that are still in in mint condition and low price is amazing. We were told that they accept used books of any kind and will get a lifetime credit that never expires. Once you get a credit and buys a used book, the price will be less 50% from the written price. We can always find something good to read, and the price is definitely always easy on the pocketbook. The lovely people who work here are very well informed. I was looking for a classic by Pearl S Buck, and she knew exactly where it was located in the store. I have confidence in these guys, and I know that I can check with them before I go look elsewhere. I had…read moreto get back in my car drive a few blocks away to the police department which was only labeled by the police cars in the lot. For the new welcoming place for all parking permits it's remarkably unlabeled and not easy to find. Don't go to the main doors of the building go down to what seems to be a lower level area to find the police department. Also write down your license plate number yo save yourself a trip back to your car. I love that everyone just kept saying sorry new rules. Library visits require a visit to the police station. Someone call the firemen.

It has been a place full of extreme joy, hanging out with friends and just socializing when I should be doing work and a place of great worry and distress come exam time. What is nice about this library is that there is a multitude of different areas that have different atmospheres that may or may not be conducive to studying. Pretty much on the first floor you got the computer lab area, with tons of available computers to do work on. My only experience with these is when I was taking Statistics and had to do "math lab" crap or for Comp 25 and had to make my own website. You can access your files easily enough but what always pissed me off is that I could never install software like dropbox or other useful programs like that. Be cautious, it can get loud over here. Another area, I affectionately call, the "Stinky Room" is located upstairs on the SW corner. I don't what is up with it, but for reals it smells like doodoo 24/7. I think they may have finally gotten it fixed but I remember having to cover my nose walking by that area. It has some nice cubicles if you get distracted from people walking by. All of them are etched up by the frats and misc people. I try to avoid this area unless necessary cause its right next to some bathrooms and the stench can leak out... My office, aka home away from home, is the tables on the second floor along the south wall. It features 6, count em, 6 long tables, easily accommodating 4 people each with power jacks and ethernet connections for everyone! With the big windows nearby it isn't as depressing being inside cause you can see all of nature outside the window, especially when you are spending 10+ hours since I'm in the pharmacy program. It can get loud over here but this is 1st come spot cause this is where all my friends are at. If you need a place to discuss something or do some tutoring I would recommend the downstairs tables right near the entrance. This is an area dedicated to talking. Now there is a lounge on the second floor with some comfy chairs and tables and it is good for some light discussions or group projects but more frequently it is infested with a certain loud-ass group of people *ahem* that got nothing to study and just chat it up, ruining everyone's concentration. Be mindful of other people if you decide to sit here. There are also study rooms that can be reserved in blocks of 2 hours. Just a note about these, they may be closed off with a glass wall, but we hear you in there... every word. These rooms are not sound proof, so if you plan on gossiping about something, it won't be a secret for much longer. That's all I can think of this place. There is a lot more I can write but if you go to the school you pick up on these things. For reals though, when I go off on rotations and eventually graduate, I am going to miss this place in an odd way. I have had weeks in which I have logged in 70 hours in a 7 day period, done all-nighters when open 24 hours, made many cool friends and sparked a few love interests. Not only is it location in a very busy area that would make it tough to visit if you aren't able to walk or use public transportation (parking on the street is metered & in high demand and the parking lot is beyond small), but the location itself is quite small. It feels almost like a satellite branch than an actual library. I guess it would be good for just working, but that's about it. It didn't look like it had much of a selection. Finally, I want to believe it was a one off, but the librarian who helped me was the first in over a dozen library visits who wasn't beyond friendly and helpful. She just seemed to not want to be there that day. It just capped off a disappointing trip.

Who doesn't love libraries?!…read more This library is our favorite! It is kept clean, organized, and have a wide variety of children's books to choose from. Staff and volunteers are always helpful. As other libraries, this branch also offer self-checkouts and easy drop offs. They they also offer automatic extension for borrowed items and you can also put books on hold if you are waiting on a specific one. I also had a privilege of using one of the conference rooms with other mom friends to help our kids with their homework. Parking is ample and is located in downtown Brentwood, so you can also shop, eat, play and walk around after. If you also want to support the library, one way is to check out their second hand books on the second floor or donate books as well.

The area near the entrance is often occupied by individuals who appear to be spending extended periods there and there is sometimes a strong odor by the entrance that makes the space uncomfortable. On one occasion when I came to study, I was unable to find a table with an available charging port for my laptop because several outlets were being used continuously for charging phones. It would be helpful if the library could take steps to better manage these issues and ensure the space remains clean, welcoming and safe for families, students and all community members.
