I was Training at Yamasaki at the time and went to the free sessions and open mat at standard. I was struggling with mental health issues at the time and Greg and Noah and the rest of the crew were as patient as anyone could be. This gym is an Extremely skillful gym. I've spoken to Greg multiple times about jitsu in general and I have not spoken to anyone nor listened to any YouTube video with that level of intellect about the sport. Just an update now, a year later. I found out I was pregnant shortly after joining. Greg has experience working with pregnant students, so he was able to help me continue training safely up until the very end. The other students were amazing throughout the pregnancy and never made me feel like I was an annoyance or hindering their training. Now, eleven weeks after giving birth, they are helping me get started all over again. I've trained at places before that had a lot of talk about how they want more women to train there and want to be more "female-friendly." I'm a visitor from out of town and had some great training sessions with the beasts here. Greg Souders provides exceptional instruction and runs his classes in the most efficient way I've ever encountered. The class begins with learning the technique, then gradually escalated into position specific drilling, then training, and finally sparring, all with the focus on the technique of the day, which always fits in with the theme of the week. The warm up is built into the instruction and training and can be applied directly with the technique being taught, which is a breath of fresh air compared to the typical running around the mats, jumping jacks, and endless shrimping that most schools typically do.
