The park has swings for toddlers and big kids , a climbing area and lots of grass to run around on. There is a restroom and a drinking fountain but the drinking fountain didn't appear to work. This park is right next to an elementary school and there were several other kids and parents there besides us. There was a picnic table that we sat at with easy view of the children so you can keep an eye on them. I love that Amarillo has so many great little neighborhood parks!

Most of the time they would know, but let things slip. The politics are strong there, and they try to brainwash the students into capitalism and conservatism rather than letting them be open minded and finding themselves in the world. The high school doesn't offer many electives, which in turn leads students going on to life after high school not knowing what they want to do or what their talents are. I left because of this and because of the bullying issues. I was told by several students that they wanted to burn me alive, and when brought up to the staff they didn't seem to care about the threats. Not only that, I had a teacher my freshman year just snap and start yelling and throwing things at students. He was fired for this and it took some time but it left several students afraid of male instructors and scared that this could happen again in the future. Violence is widespread throughout this district causing crime rates to go up. There's not much diversity so anyone that is a bit different from the crowd sticks out and is most likely bullied for that. There is no separation of church and state in this district, they are very Christian and look down upon those that are not. They don't keep their schools very clean and their technology is out dated. I don't recommend letting your children go here unless you're okay with all of these things.

Once I was able to find the school everything went very smoothly. The staff that I encountered was very friendly and helpful to every visitor that they came across and worked hard to encourage the kiddos to do well (the ages started at 6 y/o and went through Jr. High I believe). The school itself is a little dated but very well taken care of; it's obvious that they take pride in the facility and work hard to keep it clean and celebrate its age instead of hiding it. I really like that approach and enjoyed wondering through the halls to see how everything was setup. The only real negative I have is the aggressive driving you must employ when exiting from I27, which, if you know its coming is probably little more than a typical turn. I am not sure the attendance of the school, so parking may be fine for a usual day but for a large regional competition the parking was a challenge and the tight streets meant you had to keep a close eye open for people trying to cross the street.

She is way ahead then where she would be in public school, she doesn't get sick like she used to from being around all the other nasty kids who carry sickness.
