Even my own grown-up kids would love this place. I'm thrilled to see they carry Brio and several other brands that we used to drive to King Arthur Court to buy. I bought a gift for my daughter and her boyfriend. Hopefully, it's easy to make a return because I am not sure what I did with the receipt. But the selection of Lego was good and I was thinking I was going to have to drive to Eastgate to shop. This place is a gem in Anderson. Hope it stays here.

Had such a sad experience today, and am still shaken up…read more This is a longer review, but with respect to the other associate, I want to make sure I'm clear with where the issues originated. We rented some beautiful pieces for our show this month, and Marianne was amazing in getting everything set up and ready for us. When returning most of the items, I made the mistake of returning a shirt to the wrong location, so I had to come back the next week to complete everything. I was ready to pay an extension fee, but she was kind and allowed for that margin. We had a dress and lace-up shirt to bring back as well. My mother dropped off the dress first, and was told sternly by Nancy there would be a $40 damage fee. I wasn't sure what that was for, so when I stopped by to drop off the lace up shirt, I asked. I have a new costume team, so if mistakes were made, I want to make sure they know where they must improve. I have no problem paying the fee- prices here are very fair- but something happened after I asked what the fee was for. Nancy stormed away without speaking a minute, planted at another counter, and then proceeded to tear into me, loud enough for the room full of customers to hear, and potentially even the adjacent room. I think she somehow concluded I was trying to get out of a fee, which upset her. Despite me trying to communicate that wasn't the case, not only did she stop listening but she threw insults. A few of Nancy's choice sentences: "You are so snooty" "Your energy is killing me" "Has anyone ever told you that before? It's true" "You sound so snippy" "Everything you say is so passive aggressive" -I replied I was being genuine, she said, "I don't believe you." "I have been doing this for 40 years so if there's an issue I know it's not me." "Blip blip blip blip" (mimicking me talking and cutting me off for asking where to drop off the final shirt this week) Even if I was trying to negotiate damages, you still shouldn't use public shaming as a tactic. The customer is not always right, but I do believe that standards of mutual respect should be held in all interactions. Marianne was kind, professional, helpful, and honestly made the magic of clothing and performance come alive for me and my cast that came with me. Nancy was hostile, insulting, aggressive, and never even created space for response. I do have the interaction recorded, so all details can be corroborated. I'm not the person to post it (public shaming is not my method) but I'm happy to share the recording with the owners for reflection. I do hope moving forward that a space where artists can create that much magic together can also be a space of safety, gentleness, and mutual respect.

We went a week later after he mentioned it and when you walk in (especially in my generation), you feel like your walking down memory lane. We stopped by on a Saturday and couldn't believe our eyes with so much of the stuff they had. Not only Barbie, but also comic book-based stuff, classic TV show and movie merch, rare Hot Wheels cars, POP dolls, vintage lunch boxes, hard to find glassware, endless action figures, and so much more. Sherry, one of the owners, was super helpful and friendly, answering any questions we had about anything. With their physical store only being so big, they have to put other stuff in storage, but they also gave an online store with even more goodies for sale. My lady bought six different Barbies, a vintage case, and a Deadpool glass (for me) and only spent a little over $80. I would have gotten more, but the stuff I was eyeing was newer comic book and horror movie figures, most very big, and very pricey ($150 or more), so I'm gonna wait a couple paychecks for that. But there's one big Leatherface figure in particular that one day will be mine (oh yes, it WILL be mine). My lady and I could spend a whole day, and paycheck, geeking out over this place. Thunder-Sky, an autistic Native American, sketched demolition and construction sites throughout the Queen City. When he passed away in 2004, he left behind 2,000 drawings and a variety of costumes. Thunder-Sky Inc. was founded to preserve the legacy through art exhibits, educational programs, and an exhibition space for unconventional art. Many of Raymond's works of art and outfits can be viewed at the gallery which is opened Friday evenings and weekend afternoons. Prints of Thunder-Sky's work are available for purchase for $50.00 with proceeds contributing to the operation of the gallery. Since his passing, Raymond's art has been collected by enthusiasts across the nation.

The theme was crime scenes so I just had to attend. I could not recall ever being at Thunder-Sky before which made it more of a special treat. I walked up because it was nice out but discovered there was plenty of street parking upon my arrival. The gallery is located in an older but attractive building with a sign hanging over the sidewalk. The exhibit hall is smaller then some but it looks spacious and bright. I found the crime scene paintings and mixed media works very fun and engaging. Down a staircase was more exhibition space. I loved seeing what appeared to be an ongoing Golden Girls' tribute display with framed and mixed media pieces. This is where the food and drink was found. In addition to the typical fruit, meat, pretzels, crackers & cheese was a delicious chocolate cake of a heavier texture with chocolate icing. On top of the cake were these awesome little plastic hatchets like the kind you might murder someone with. How cool is that! By the staircase was a nice variety of cold cans of beer and water. Out the back door there is a small patio space offering a view of the hillside. I really like this art gallery. I plan to return here again.
