We just spent three days at Stagecoach with my wife and two young kids and I can't say enough about the ranch and their staff. They go out of their way to accomodate their guests, from horseback riding to adventures in military humvees. My 11yo daughter is an experienced rider, but my 7yo son has never ridden, and they planned rides that were fun for everyone. You can do two rides a day if you want, which my daughter and wife did. My son and I chose to ride once and spend the rest of our time finding old military relics with the metal detectors, swimming and trying our hand at archery. My favorite aspect was that it felt like a real ranch. I felt totally comfortable letting my kids explore the ranch with new friends while I relaxed. They do family style meals at 9am, 1pm and 7pm which felt special. We will definitely go back, but next time we'll stay a little longer! read more

Stagecoach Trails truly is the best vacation destination. There is such a warmth from the family and staff that runs this ranch, that it parallels the warmth of the Arizona sunshine. They care about and truly take care of all guests in an individualized manner. The ranch itself is a perfect place to unplug and spend time with those you love. The food is so delicious. There is an abundance of activities like archery, shooting, ATVs, a great pool, ping pong, e-bikes, horseshoes, cards/games, a kid's playground and petting zoo. There is also plenty of space to just relax and take in the quiet around you and breath in the open air. The horseback riding is unbelievable with breathtaking rides to a variety of terrains, including a day trip into the mountains! Their motto is "you come as guests, but leave as family," and it shows in all they do. I would recommend this dude ranch 100/10! We will definitely be back. read more

Lovely setting and beautiful ranch. The wranglers took good care of us. We loved the varied, challenging rides and well-trained, sure-footed horses. Tristan paired us with some of the best horses we've ridden in our 60+ years and gave us good ideas of where to look for our own, since we're considering becoming horse owners again. Claire was a wonderful guide, educating us about the environment, the ranch and horses in general. She tailored the rides to our abilities and desires and showed us different parts of the desert during each ride. Elvis, Trish and kitchen staff prepared delicious homemade food, including plenty of salads. We like to eat healthy food and were happy we could do that during our stay. The kitchen was very accommodating to our dietary preferences. The riding was our reason for staying at this ranch, and it did not disappoint, but we also enjoyed hikes, fat-tire bike rides, table tennis, soaks in the hot tub, visits to the little equines and quiet times in the lodge. We had a group of friends stay here in Feb 2023. We loved it! The horseback riding in the desert was beautiful. My horse was Amigo and he is a Tennessee Walker. He can take off with a smooth gallop and then stop on a dime. lol the guide said he usually stays in the back of the line, but towards the end of my trip he was first in line. It's loved him so...sweet. The accommodations are darling individual little houses with a front porch. The main lobby is right out of the old west so laid back and comfy and filled with antiques. The food is comfort food. You eat with the family same time. Nothing fancy but damn good, and plenty made for seconds. After riding all day you get hungry. Bring snacks for your room if you need food in between breakfast lunch and dinner. The grounds are beautiful. I'll be back. read more

What an awesome cowboy getaway weekend! I found STGR online when looking for horse riding around Lake Havasu and decided to book 2 nights over a weekend for my husband and I. The rate included a horse ride the day of arrival, two rides every full day, homecooked meals and certain activities (archery, hot tubbing, sitting at the fire pit listening to their son play guitar, walking beautiful little Peanut around the ranch). Upon arrival, we got a tour of the ranch and a run down of the daily schedule. Something that did alarm me a bit at first was that you do not get a key to your room and all doors remain unlocked. But you soon realize that you really are in no man's land. On our first ride, we were grouped together with everyone else that had arrived that day. However, a bit to our frustration, they were not avid riders. This caused a lot of stopping on the trails along with complaining. I brought this up when talking to staff afterwards and they immediately acknowledged the issue. They were going to split us up for the next rides. We had two amazing rides the next day and we are so grateful that we got such great service. The meals we had at the ranch were amazing. Scrambled eggs with delicious bacon in the mornings, pizza at noon and hearty homeland meat & mash for dinner along with dessert. You won't go hungry here, I promise. They also have a wide variety of wines, spirits and beers available for purchase. While the rides and activities can easily keep you busy an entire day, don't forget to sit back, relax and watch the sun set behind the mountains, lighting up the sky in every color imaginable. I was disappointed with the way this ranch described itself on line in comparison to what it actually was. The rooms, equipment, activities, and food were not as described. We vacation a couple times a year, this turned out to be the worst place we've ever gone. We didn't end up on a guest ranch, it barely qualified as a dude ranch. The owner was not welcoming, he seemed angry and put out. He told us the ranch rules, walked us to our room and that was pretty much all of the direct interaction we had with him during our stay. We arrived as guests but did not leave as family (per the motto on the wall). Our room we was not like the picture on the web: blinds broken, bedspread and futon covered in old tattered coverings, bed creaky and wobbly, and walls were thin. I realize it is a 'ranch' but at least it should have looked like the pictures on the web and not run-down. No wi-fi is provided, asked an employee and was told the password is private and to use my data. None of the rooms lock from the outside, they don't share this on their site. Had I known this I would have brought a traveling lock to keep our items safe. At check-in we were told that the ranch has an honor system where you write your purchases on a piece of paper for gift shop items, beers, snacks, and so on. I witnessed a guy walk in and grab a beer and not write his name down and now this honorable guy is staying 4 rooms down from me. I put my valuables in my car. Horseback riding was an adventure. We noticed with other guests it seemed if ranch staff liked you, you were given a better ride and experience. I was not talked to about my ability and saw other guests had this same issue. The guide was nice but not really listening, and after several rides did not know my name. Horses mostly just followed in a very narrow trail through the desert. I wanted to go see some specific things but despite telling us we could that never happened. I've been riding before and did not need a guide, but from what we saw no guest was considered good enough to be allowed to ride without a guard. It was disturbing that we were swayed to go here by rave reviews, and then found out the place was a bit of a dump aside from riding horses and sharing time with other guests (pretty much everywhere we've ever stayed we have met nice people, so not unique to this place). Riding horses got old by the end of day two trudging along same routes and having no say in where you go. I guess people really love horses and don't care what the rest of their vacation is like? I saw some diehard horse lovers sitting out rides because they were tired of them. Wish we had gone somewhere that was nice to stay and just paid separately to ride horses, a few times and with more flexibility, and been able to eat good food of our choosing. This place was so far from everything it felt like a prison. Meals were pretty much always late, past the scheduled time, with everyone sitting around waiting for the food to be brought out. The dining room was set up in large family style tables with all of the ranch staff sitting together at their own and not really mingling so not much of a family feeling. Dinners were served buffet style and everyone ate the same thing. The meals we experienced were a roasted leg of chicken, a goulash soup they called chili, pizza, pork belly, and roasted pork butt. I felt the meals could have been brought up a notch for the price paid for the stay. It brought to mind Joe Arpaio and his meal plans focused on nutrition but low cost. I read that staff visits you during dinner to check in regarding activities and horseback riding but we did not get this experience. The dining room was open all of the time so that you can get juice, water, and very weak coffee but there really weren't any snacks available unless purchased in the main lodge. Campfire times never happened while we were there, unless they started very late at night after we went to bed. Equipment for tossing horseshoes, shooting pool, and playing ping pong were old and dirty. We did not try the bows and arrows because archery buffs told us not to pull these bows back near our face because old and not safe. We were going to use the metal detectors and look for collectibles, but it turns out you had to leave what you found. You could not keep them as souvenirs. My suggestion to anyone thinking about staying here is to check with the other guests that have left honest reviews and ask them what the rooms were really like, ask them about the food, and ask them how they treated EACH guest, not just the groupie guests. I noticed that they were not nice to everyone, and with so many rave reviews it looks like they don't have to be. read more

What an amazing experience. The trail rides were beautiful and well led. The horses are very experienced and we felt safe with our two kids out on trail for two and three hours. The property is very cool, with ranch themed rooms, a game room, movie room, bar area, goats, dining hall, pool, miniature horse and goats. The owners and wranglers are friendly and accommodating. We stayed in June after they recently opened back up after the Covid closures. The owner JP, made sure we were safe by checking temperatures and maintaining specific cleaning guidelines, etc. without making us feel like we were feared or should be fearful or uncomfortable. Words cannot even begin to explain what a great vacation at the ranch was! From the very first minute of pulling up, it was nothing but hospitality and kindness from everyone. You immediately feel like family. The main frontier lodge is fun with games, a fridge of beverages and a bar. Next is the dining hall, where every meal is served. Although I didn't partake in the family dining everything smelled amazing! And I heard it tasted pretty darn good too! The pool was nice with the hot tub. Perfect for laying out in the afternoon for a nap. There also an archery range, roping area, and fat tire bike you can take out. What's nice is the public areas are open 24 hrs so you can go get drinks at any time and keep yourself busy. I stayed in room 8, Navajo. The decor was was beautiful and the accommodations were wonderful. Great shower pressure! The bed was so so comfy!! But let's be honest, the real reason we go is for the horses! The first ride is an introductory ride, to see what level you are at. I love just being on a horse no matter what, but the following rides are a bit faster pace if you're up at that level. I was smiling so much I had so much sand on my teeth! Definitely bring a water bottle and a hat that fits tight on your head. The wranglers are great! So kind and funny! I've ridden all over the world, and I can definitel say this was one of the best vacations I've had. It made my birthday extra special. I'll definitely be back for a longer trip next time! read more

Great time, highly recommended! Relaxing with a little adventure. Owners JP and Trisha were great. We had special diet needs and they were very accommodating. Having garlic and gluten issues in a family style buffet is usually tough, but Randy worked magic in the kitchen to make my daughter and I feel like we were just as important - thanks Randy! Take the ATV ride, do the archery, sit in rocking chairs too long, get up early to watch to sunrise, enjoy a bottle of wine, hold baby goats, ride horses til it's hard to sit, watch every sunset and shoot cannons... Advice - take sunscreen, bring a cowboy hat (or buy one there), drink plenty of water, bring long pants for the horse rides, bring a bathing suit for the pool, always listen for the dinner and lunch bell, stick around for the fire after dinner. This was an amazing trip for myself and my 16year old son. I loved every minute of it. The whole feel of the place had me relaxed as soon as we arrived. The entire staff and owners were amazing. They are welcoming you into their home...and you do feel welcomed. Everyone went out of their way to be nice and helpful. I loved the horseback riding...getting more comfortable with every ride. I loved just spending time with all the animals and relaxing by the pool, and chatting with all the great people we met. The food was great. Left every meal feeling full. I was unable to make my trip due to the Corona virus restrictions and concerns. They refused my request for a refund, and offered a voucher. They told me they were trying to do their best to look out for their customers. I won't be able to use that voucher for at least a year, and given the nature of the economic stress hitting the country, I would not be surprised if the ranch were closed by then. I even offered to let them keep $1k breakage, no credit, if they refunded the remaining. They declined and told me they are "on a sinking ship" and can't let anyone jump off. Really makes me want to trust them with the safety of myself and daughter around large dangerous animals. My daughter & I completely enjoyed our 3 night stay... a perfect get away from it all!!!. Wonderfully peaceful and relaxing environment. The owners are very friendly, thoughtful and welcoming... as well as the guests! The game night was alot of fun! The trail rides are very pleasent & their horses are great..... these folks know what they are doing & they seem to geninuely enjoy sharing their lifestyle with guests. Due to Covid wrecking our original plans of going to the Caribbean, we were looking for a fun, safe getaway and we surely found it. We have 2 teenagers (15 & 18) and went with another family with kids of the same age. We loved all the "safety features" they have in place ... check temp when you arrive, you must put on sanitizer before you open a door and before you get your drinks, etc. It truly made us feel as "safe" as we have felt in a long time, especially since you are literally in the middle of nowhere. I honestly didn't know what to expect when arriving and was a little nervous, but we were pleasantly surprised at all they had to do. My family LOVEDDDD riding the horses. It was their highlight of the trip! They non-stopped talked about how much fun they had and they couldn't wait until the next day to ride again. I was very scared to ride, didn't really want to do it at first, but the wranglers Wes & Shane were soooo helpful and made what was initially a frightful experience at first, to where I actually felt somewhat comfortable. I can't say that I love riding as much as my family but I am sure glad I did it. And I loved the horses, mine was Dusty, my hubby got General, my daughter got Poke and my son got Banjo (who was all our favorite! he was small but mighty!) The horses and wranglers were absolutely AMAZING, wouldn't have been the same without them! We also loved shooting guns with Tristan and we also went in the Humvee and rented the ATV's out to the desert to see some mines (my personal highlight). Tristan was so informative and helpful as well, we really loved seeing all those old artifacts, such a treat! We also tried out archery and took the little walk around the property, hung with the goats and even the ended the trip with an old fashioned quick draw contest by JP - so much fun! My favorite part of the day was when we'd go by the fire at night and have a cocktail before dinner and just chat with all the staff. JP, Tricia, Caden, Alexis (Cayden even played guitar for us one night, so special!) ... really EVERYONE was sooo nice and truly made us feel like family. I cannot say enough how wonderful everyone was to us. We loved all of the food too! As an example, one day our breakfast was eggs, hashbrowns, fruit, and the best bacon we've ever had HANDS DOWN, lunch was burgers, fries, salad and hot chocolate chip cookies and dinner was chicken, rice, corn, salad, cowboy donuts & ice cream. It was all absolutely delicious and there was plenty of it! At breakfast, Tricia gave the kids some leftover fruit and vegetables and let them feed the goats (they totally loved that). I honestly could go on and on, we've been back a week already and still keep talking about what a great time we had. I took my family here for my wife's 40th birthday and we had the best time. JP the owner and his 2 sons and wife were such nice down to earth people who made us feel at home. The rooms were decorated as if you were in the nicest hotel in the old Wild West. All the staff was so nice and accommodating especially our rancher and guide Slim he was just so personal and very encouraging to my kids which were new riders. The horse were trained so well and there was never a time I felt worried for my kids. The food was very good. I know sometimes it is hard when dealing with 45 people but that did not happen. JP's wife made a chocolate cake that was the best we ever had. We rode in a real desert storm Humvee and shot an m16 and bow and arrows and they had quads for off-roading. You can't find a better ranch for the price!!! A great family run ranch, with great people, great horses, great food and great accommodations. You will find a two night stay is too short, I recommend a week if you can. This is a great place for any occasion even a family reunion and they offer disabled riding too. They go from the expert rider who can lope to the completely inexperienced rider who can learn from the cowboys and truly enjoy the ride. It's a place to leave life behind, relax by the pool, play ping pong, shoot pool, play games cards or horse shoes. Take a walk, watch the stars, have a picnic, and meet others.
