Megan not only could…read morenever even try to relate to me on a personal level, but was flat out cold toward me through this very difficult process. Multiple times, she said one thing and then switched her stance as soon as the opposing counsel brought it up. She ARGUED against me, her client, in mediation alongside the mediator. We were in this custody battle because my ex-husband showed up to coach my sons baseball team drunk, got kicked off the coaching staff, got a DUI while trying to pick our son up at my house and tested off the charts for illegal narcotics. Somehow, he walked out of mediation with more parenting time and decision making over baseball. Megan Pettis did not advocate for me in the slightest during one part of this process including mediation. I felt completely bullied by her and the mediator and forced to agree to things I did not believe were best for my son (through tears and distress).

I spent hours coming up with a plan for three types of outcomes. I emailed them to my attorney at N&S with absolutely no response. I was totally blindsided during mediation with MY lawyer siding with my ex-wife's attorney! He actually took the Zoom call from his home, explaining that he was leaving for vacation after the call and could not show up in person. We got waxed by my ex-wife's attorney with Will and the mediator even putting pressure on me to give up way more than I needed to. I am thoroughly and completely disappointed with my representation from this firm who clearly "mailed it in". Do your homework. You can get good counsel for half of what this firm charges. Attorneys have a poor reputation for a reason. This one is well deserved.

The entire process…read moreis handled by paralegals, which isn't necessarily a problem, but in this office the paralegals are unprofessional, rude, and lack negotiation skills. You never actually hear from an attorney. Case manger Nayeli, was extremely unresponsive. She rarely answered the phone, ignored voicemails and emails for weeks at a time, and frequently promised to call on specific dates but never followed through. My case dragged on for over a year after treatment was completed. Even after everything was supposedly resolved, they delayed releasing my check for another month. I was told documents couldn't be sent via DocuSign (which turned out to be untrue) just to force me to come in person. When I finally received the check, it was a very significant amount less than what was promised over the phone. She then claimed the reduction was due to medical bills that "couldn't be negotiated," despite telling me earlier they had already been taken care of. Overall, this firm was dishonest, unprofessional, and provided a very poor experience.

Firstly, the lack of communication skills is ridiculous. On top of that the case manager Nyalie and the legal assistant Carles are unprofessional. Then, I had to initiate follow up with my case after being open for almost two years. The lack of communication was awful. Lastly, after working with this law firm for about two years, there was no gesture of appreciation made. Overall my personal experience with this law group was disappointing.

In my case, I had made a big error 2 years ago: signed a divorce settlement agreement, without getting reviewed by a lawyer. When I consulted her if it could get amended, and she explained to me in great detail, referring to relevant legal authority/literature, why it would be a waste of my money and time to retain her since the case was not strong. But she also showed empathy towards me and felt my pain for not receiving a fair share of the financial burden from my ex-wife. I would recommend her to anyone in need of a knowledgeable divorce attorney in the state of Georgia.

When I say his "entire" team, I want to point out that Justin, Danielle, Alyssa, Susan, Sandi, Maggie, Kelli, Terri and Madison who were all at some point assisting on the case, and I am so very grateful for each of these individuals and what they did for my family. This remarkable team represented me as the Petitioner for a period covering almost 2 years for a modification of custody. Upfront, Justin was very realistic in setting the expectations we would be facing, but very confident and reassuring this was a solid case. Throughout a very long and painfully emotional journey, Justin and his team were always able to answer my questions and concerns, supported by their thorough knowledge of the law, while working hard on my case with determination and putting me at ease through the legal process. The outcome of our case was 100% plus more what we prayed the court would order and my children now have a chance at a healthy future. My profession is also in the legal world, but not family law. Because of this I have a natural understanding of the value of someone's time and how it applies to results. Justin and his team were extraordinary in fairness and accuracy with fees throughout this process and worth every single penny spent for this outcome. I am truly blessed with the superb representation our family received and would highly recommend this firm if you have a high conflict case that needs the dedication, care and legal knowledge for a successful outcome in the best interest of all.
