This place is just lovely and old fashioned -- almost all locals inside. Our server was very…read morehelpful and spoke English well; they customized my breakfast due to my gluten allergy. My breakfast of three eggs cooked on top of ham with swiss on top (ingenious! I couldn't wait to try this at home!) was cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious -- I could not finish it all. My husband ordered sausages, which kind of looked like hot dogs, but were very good; he also finished with a pastry which looked absolutely amazing . . . ALL of their pastries looked amazing, and with the number of locals enjoying them as well, I would say this would be a good bet if that is what you are looking for! I loved the way they served my coffee on a tray, with a small glass of water. We like eating where locals do, and this fits the bill entirely. It is not a large breakfast menu, but certainly plenty to choose from, and utterly charming inside. One of the best breakfasts of our trip.

We were looking for a coffee place in town and found Cafe Schiebel. It's located on the second…read morestory of one of the shopping complexes. The outside is adorable, adorned with crimson red and golden design. The interior has the same matching decorations. It's less like a cafe and reminds me more of a parlor, it has a very vintage aesthetic. Everything from the silver trays to the contemporary paintings emits elegance. There wasn't an English menu but they had one with pictures (I think the waitress knew we were tourists and let us point to what we wanted). It was a hot day so we both ordered iced coffee which looked like a coffee milkshake. The drink was absolutely delicious! The coffee was strong and bitter, but mixed with the ice cream really sweetened it up. The menu was small and dedicated mostly to drinks and some pastries. On the back of the sheet is the allergy information. I have celiacs, so it listed everything with gluten. Unfortunately, there are no gluten-free pastries. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. If you're in town, I'd definitely recommend checking this place out! Also, they don't take card here! Luckily there is a bank nearby where we were able to withdraw some euros. It's in the normal price range--maybe slightly higher. For two drinks, it cost us 12 euros in total.
