When I first looked into this Dr office they had really good reviews ... now they have 2-ish stars…read more I do not know what happened but I had multiple appts where Dr was no show (the last one they fit me into NP schedule). Each time I was there and early and signed in and told to wait to be called. I had a sleep study in November. But I did not receive prescription until February because they would say they sent order but wasnt actually sent until February (after a ton of followups). Again, 15 mins early, signed in and told to sit and wait. The appt yesterday was a follow up appt. No one came out. Next thing lady at Front desk says Dr is leaving. What. he has an appt (for a patient who was here 15 min early)! Who does that?! So frustrated. The next day (a Saturday) I received a voicemail (not a call just vm) and an email saying "*I* missed my appt." beyond ridiculous. save yourself time and aggravation and go somewhere else. * If I could give 0 stars I would *

I have been seeing Dr. AJ Barot since 2015 (it's May, 2022) for sleep apnea. I started at Sentara…read moreNorfolk back then, but didn't like some of the things being done so I switched to VA Neurology and Sleep Center. Dr. Barot and his team have been fantastic, so much so that I my mother, my sister, and my sister's daughter have all been there as well. And last night, my 7 year old BIPAP Resmed machine stopped working in the middle of the night. I was very concerned about not having a working machine in time, so I contacted Dr. Barot who was actually on vacation, and he made sure his team (Alex and Lois) were able to action immediately to help ensure something was found. I was able to get a replacement BIPAP machine this afternoon, even with the supply chain issues currently impacting supply. All because Dr. Barot cares about his patients. Excellent doctor, I give him my highest recommendation.

Today is Sunday august 27th 2023 many years after my first Bon Secours pain management review. I…read morejust read about, in Daily Press, how Bon Secours stays committed to patient care. This Dr. sounds as if he/she is the kind of doctor we all wish we had unfortunately, that is a far and few between case. Since Bon Secours pain management clinic closed down without warning years ago and all of us ( patients) were just left with a sheet of paper with other pain clinics numbers, that were worthless. As soon as you said BS PMC you were told Docs weren't taking new patients. The reality was back then no Docs wanted BSPMC because of the drug suboxone. It was given in pill form as a take home 30 day ( 1aday) pain pill and was the new no addiction pain pill ( WRONG) the article goes on about how Oct 1st if Anthem remains unwilling to negotiate Bon Secours will be out of network and patients are in jeopardy of losing their Doctors. I understand the horror in that as I've been shuffled from one Doc,Pa,Np, to the next. When I started out it was chronic back (lower) pain that could be traced back through MRI's, Dr visits, in other words proof I was not pill seeking since arriving back stateside in 1992 when I had Tricare and saw Dr. Jeffrey Carlson. Unfortunately after my first attempt to see him a mistake was made in coding and instead of lower back it was misconstrued for upper back, new referral for lower by then he no longer took Tricare and off I went looking ( referral each time) for new spine doc which lead me to BSPMC. My first review still stand I'm 64 now cannot stand upright, my lower L1-L4 cannot support me, I always look like I'm looking for loose change on ground. I must use walker or wheelchair depending on how long I'm going to be out. While I'm going through the back problem which is only getting worse, I started swelling feet, then legs then my legs started blistering, road rash, open soars, leaking of fluid and burning itching awful pain. Went to ER and in ambulance only to be told to leave that they don't hand out pain meds because my chart had the suboxone med ( because I was still on it) and they perceived me as a drug abuser. It dawned on me why comments about my veins and a few other comments were made. The ambulance attendant was still there as I was his wife's hairdresser and he wanted to make sure I was alright ( no other calls came in for them) he said lift ur legs ( most all the skin on back was road rash, the doctor then says omg how did it get that bad ( duuhh) I was hospitalized a week that was 2017. Here we are 2023 I'm still in 24/7 pain as I weaned myself off suboxone I've had my nerve endings ablation ( burnt) trying to stop pain so I can try and physical therapy myself to stand upright. It deadens the pain somewhat but, by days end I'm in tears. I'm not looking for sympathy I deal and still cut and color a few friends hair ( sitting down) for the fun of it and socialization. What I have is called spondylitis, chronic Lymphadema, diabetes, and a few other things due to a break down of health I say I'm tore up from floor up and at 57 I was self employed, hairdresser who had a heck of clientele ( 36 yrs worth) a active life and through Bon Secours I am now 64 and on disability ( not something I wanted) and a shut in because walking is unbearable so excuse this patient if she agrees to disagree or maybe I've just fallen through a big medical crack called doctors are tired of insurance companies doctoring last nov I was hospitalized 2 days for a bleeding colon was supposed to get colonoscopy in 6 weeks my appt is finally this nov1 year after because of all my other problems it has to be done in hospital so I'm wondering where these committed to patient care docs are and I know some of you are thinking I must be a horrible patient or person I can truly attest to the fact that I'm respectful and never rude to anyone as I truly believe in treat people as you would want to be treated. I just think healthcare has gone to heck ina handbag like so many other things in 2023. I know this is long but, reading the article today just hit a nerve probably one in my lower back that keeps hiding from the ablation needle.

Let me tell you all some thing ..I was with this clinic for 6 years the last year under dr Allen…read morewas the worst I've ever known...for one thing the place is for sale and as soon as someone buys it they're gone anyway..this clinic was ok until dr Allen took over...he took everybody off there meds offering no alternatives. When he took us off our meds the original pain came back ..meds go down pain goes up ..but that's not all if u try and have this clinic address any kind of pain issue what so ever they blow you off ...oh yea snd heres the bad part if at anytime while they're reducing your meds you complain that your in more pain..they cut you off your meds completely and tell you you need to see there inhouse psychologist ..please people take my advice stay away for the love of God from these people
