Whoever does pricing knows the value of certain pieces and they are priced accordingly, but still a huge value. To move merchandise there are also free items, and my teenage daughter found some really nice sweaters in that category; she was proud that her entire total purchase was $5. Organization is a bit cattywampus but no worse than many other they stores. The whole place has a cozy vibe and it supports a worthy cause, a DV shelter in Marquette.

Here in the UP, a lot…read moreof kids can't afford the new stuff, so a strong resale shop like this is pivotal for back to school shopping. It's not inferior merchandise in many cases either. Like Eric P says, this is indeed a good one. Set back from the main road not far from Wal-Mart and other smaller mall stores and restaurants, it may be a little hard to spot with the hilly terrain of Houghton. Inside, it's not a cluttered resale shop but more like a department store in its arrangement. We've found clothes for our kids that are perfectly clean and wearable. There's also lots of shirts and sweaters and plenty of sports logo wear, assuming you're into the Green bay Packers and Michigan-based institutions. I like the fancy pattern sweaters with wild colors and a Goodwill is the place to find them for cheap. Someone else's closet-fodder can be my winter wardrobe. The toy section is a bit run-down, more like a poor yard sale, but it kept our kids occupied while we shopped the store without them nagging and misbehaving. Seems we always leave this place with something good on our vacations up north.

The staff wears vintage pieces and there is one particular gentleman that should be the face of the business (you can see his pictures on the photo gallery). Now onto the actual merchandise: they have a mixture of old and new. The main theme is cloth a from the 50's and so on. They have men's clothes as well. In fact the men's clothes are great for summer vacation. You will definitely be the most dapper looking dude. For the ladies they have a much wider variety with the most beautiful dresses and tulle skirts. The dresses are mostly new vintage like pieces and they are gorgeous and will be perfect for cocktail dresses, weddings, and any other dress up event. A little pricey for my taste, but everything that I have gotten from there over the past couple years has lasted. Throughout the store they have home goods and some of them are in mint condition. They have a corner for vintage handbags and if you are looking for a unique piece you will find it here. Last trip I got the most beautiful pair of sunglasses and they were very affordable and well made. Their selection of sunglasses and old vintage frames is small but beautifully curated. Whoever is responsible for visual merchandising in this store should be so proud. Love shopping there. It's one of my favorite things to do while in the U.P.

They also advertise that you can make an offer on any furniture that's been for sale more than 30 days, and on the multiple occasions that I've tried to do that, I'm constantly told that "the price was just lowered". Why advertise that you accept offers if you don't? Go there for the clothes and other assorted knick knacks - not the furniture.
