i am lucky to find ACR. The thing that stands out about it is that it is run by 2 fantastic people…read more- Naoko and JD. Their philosophy of running ACR resonates with me. It is very satisfying to know that your kid is in good hands. As far as facility is concerned, its kept clean. Timings are great. We plan to continue sending our kid to ACR.

Our son has been going here for over a year now, starting in the infant care area, moving through…read morethe toddler area and now is in the pre-school. He is exceedingly happy and the communication has been stellar all the way through. There are communication books which the staff write the notes so that we can keep up with what he has eaten, how long he has slept, and more. He has a lot of friends and is always so happy. These are the main things I am looking for when considering a school for him at this age. The owners have pretty high standards, and from where this school got started from when they took over, it has come a very long way. The old school, A Child's Reflection, got ran down, the carpets were 20 years old and held a lot of nasty. They basically stripped the place down and put all new floors, toys, and more. My son, as he progressed from one room to the next, has been allowed to interact with kids he has known that are either behind or ahead of him. He still likes to stop in the infant room to say hi to some of his toddler friends before moving back to the pre-school. There are some days he is having so much fun playing, I have to wait, but this is his time and place and I am happy to see him enjoying himself. I suggest to parents that are wondering if this is the right place, to watch how the kids are acting. Kids are smart and know how to tell us they don't like something. We just need to be patient and listen to them. Take a moment to attune yourself to the place and watch the kids, they really can tell you how things are going at the school. Do that for all the schools you visit!

We brought both of our boys there from about 5 months all the way up until kindergarten--we liked…read morethe play-based approach and the interaction between younger and older children and the exposure to native Spanish speakers and stories and songs, which have served them very well since then in their bilingual immersion elementary program. Casa's staff was always kind and patient, the food was always healthy and delicious, and the kids enjoyed safe indoor and outdoor areas for play and creativity. The owners are experienced, highly credentialed, and genuine in their concern for the children's growth and development. Cost was slightly below market rate, which we really needed for a couple of years there before the elder son got to kinder.

I highly recommend this daycare! My 30 month old daughter currently attends Casa de Aprendizaje…read more(CDA), and has been there since she was 5 months old. Right from the start, CDA made an outstanding impression on me! I was greeted warmly by Adriana, the other teachers, the kids and their parents. I was nervous to put my daughter in daycare at 5 months old, but Adriana and the other teachers were very understanding of my apprehension and worked with me and my daughter to make the transition very smooth and safe. They were very accommodating with giving my daughter milk that I pumped, and worked with me to make that process as easy as possible. They communicated (and still do today) daily about her sleep, playtime, and any other important events of the day. The staff at CDA work hard to meet the needs of all the kids and their parents. The physical environment: There are multiple out side and indoor play areas, all with a safe and homey appeal. The outside areas have a water station, sandbox, slides, tricycles, tire swing, and more! The inside areas have blocks, art stations, "pillow room", reading areas, and lots more! Playtime: They are tons of different toys to play with which encourage to kids to play both collaboratively and independently. The kids are carefully supervised, all while being taught many different strategies for dealing with the ups and downs that come with playing and sharing with other children. Extra activities: Students participate in science, music, art, and reading activities frequently. There are animals there for students to look at and learn about. My daughter often comes home with awesome art projects (painted pumpkins, mother's day art, etc.). Students are encouraged to sing and dance with music (sometimes live guitar music!). The food: My daughter eats delicious, healthy food for breakfast, lunch and snack daily at CDA. The kids often help make the food too! They learn about sitting while eating, handling cups, spoons, forks, and also cleaning up after themselves. Parent involvement: CDA encourages parent involvement, and is open to parents stopping by at any time. They often have social events after work to celebrate baby showers, holidays and "graduations". CDA also provides parenting classes. These events have brought the whole daycare together, and has made it feel like a supportive community. I looked at many different daycares in Santa Cruz, and non seemed as welcoming, educational, safe, and fun as Casa de Aprendizaje. I look forward to my daughter attending this daycare until it's time for Kindergarten.

We started her after a major move and Curious Angels helped her feel secure and settled pretty much immediately. The teachers are truly outstanding and clearly love their work. Our daughter loves going there every day, has formed beautiful friendships with her classmates, strong bonds with her teachers, and is learning so much. They have an outdoor emphasis and the children learn to care for chickens and bunnies, among all the other things they do during their day. The daycare uses an app to communicate with parents - we get pictures throughout the day which helps us talk to her about her activities in the evening. Communication with the teachers is excellent. It's a happy, joyous place where the children can play, learn, trust, and enjoy this special time in their life. I give Curious Angels, the teachers, and the owner my highest recommendation.
