The church is large, accommodating over 1,000 at some points, and seating is in the round with the tabernacle off to the left side when you enter near the fount. It is very beautiful, with many areas of adoration around statues of Mary and Joseph, as well as, paintings of the Divine Mercy and Our Lady of Guadalupe. Additionally, the reservation chapel, where the tabernacle is located is quiet and a wonderful place for prayer and adoration. The music is beautiful with multiple choirs (i.e., children's, Scholara, adult, contemporary), pipe organ, piano, and bells (i.e., adult and children) and supplemented with a guide in the pews to assist you with the music and readings. The priests in the parish are amazingly spiritual and attentive. They are usually in the commons before and after each Mass to greet, pray over, or just to chat with. Confession times are available throughout the week and the atmosphere is always friendly and loving. The Parish has many wonderful service, fellowship, and educational opportunities. The community does wonderful outreach through the Williamsburg House of Mercy, food pantry, and homeless programs. These are located not at the main church, but in downtown Williamsburg and serves many people throughout the region. There are also many opportunities to be involved in fellowship opportunities with other men, women, single-parents, Knights of Columbus, or many other groups that meet weekly to offer you a way to interact with others to grow spiritually in your faith. Furthermore, there are multiple educational opportunities throughout the week in the morning and evening. Overall Saint Bede is a large parish with multiple individuals and families; however, if you want it to be it can be your home away from home.

However, if you are seeking Christ, seeking to grow in Him as the Scriptures say "Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, Who being in the form of God thought it not robbery to be equal with God. Bur made himself of no reputation, and took on the form of a servant and was made in the likeness of men. And being found in fashion as man HE humbled Himself and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Therefore, GOD has highly exalted HIM and given Him a name which is above every name; that at THE NAME OF JESUS every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is LORD to the glory of God the Father." Time is getting short and the days are getting darker. Along with Joshua as he crossed over the Jordan river my confession is this: "Choose this day whom you shall serve. As for me and my house we shall serve the Lord."

Before walking in the doors, you're greeted by people who seem to actually want to know you. Everyone is so friendly and engaging. The service is around an hour and a half, but that is the because the worship is a bit long. Although worship is long, it feels short because the Spirit really flows. I, personally, wish it were longer. The sermon is biblically based. The pastor is nice and his preaching style is engaging. There are young people, old people l, and many different races. As far and the building, it is modern, but with homages to chapels. It's a non-dogmatic, creedal church where congregants engage in covenants with one another on how they will interact with one another as well as the wider world. They have a ton of activities and groups so there is something for everyone. Got a child or teenager? They have a group for them. Do you like to read? Join the monthly book club. Enjoy knitting or crocheting? There is a fellowship group for that. Do you practice Earth-based spirituality? They have a large and very active group who also practice Earth-based spirituality. They also have social justice teams like queer justice, environmental justice, racial justice, and legislative justice. UUFP also partners to support Food Bank and PORT, as well as working with other local organizations who have values aligned with UUFP, such as NAACP, Virginia Interfaith Power and Light, and Virginia Interfaith Center for Public Policy. This church actually walks the talk, unlike other churches I have attended over the last five decades. They work to make the world a better place, not just for people inside the church congregation, but for the community and indeed, the world, regardless of church membership. Hypocrisy is NOT one of the tenets of this church.
