Before visiting I suggest doing your research--quite a bit. This conservation area may not be for everyone.
Your research is necessary because the MO Department of Conservation provides precious little information for this site: Maps could be more helpful and trails could be better marked.
St. Stanislaus is over 800 acres in pretty much its natural state along the Missouri River. Though there are hilly spots this CA is in a flood plain.
Many other online reviewers complain of substantial mud following rainstorms, overgrown trails, and bugs.
For visual interest there's the river, and ruins from of a former Catholic retreat center.
Hiking, fishing, archery hunting, and trapping are allowed here within seasons and state conservation laws.
There are no amenities, such as bathrooms or trash receptacles. So, bring liquids and "carry in, carry out."
