However, the Reverend is not a very nice person at all. She is self absorbed, and only cares about herself. The things that she says are not from the heart, but are read from a script. She is an abusive Pastor who discusses various religions in her scripts in a nervy way. She is not the best candidate as a Pastor, and she takes the life out of everyone who attends those services. Please consider going to a more caring, and nurturing environment when it comes to religious matters. Her words mean nothing to the real human beings making a honest living in this community. I will never give one cent to this organization. I hope you like monopoly money because that's all you are worth Reverend. You can take your words and stick it where the sun don't shine.

As a result of this you will experience fruit in your life by getting involved here. It is a low-key, casual and diverse environment, not stuffy or cliquey at all. I have found valuable fellowship in the women's group that meets monthly and can honestly say that I'm cultivating a second family. Supportive, generous, authentic people run this church and they clearly give all of themselves without asking anything in return. However, when I arrived after 1 PM, they were still setting up, lots of empty tables/booths. I did not go for the rides, but it appeared that not one person was on that side. I wanted a Gyro ($12), fries ($5) and Pastitsio ($20) but the latter wasn't going to be ready until later on that day. For dessert I ordered loukoumades (steep price of $20) and galaktoboureko ($7). As we were leaving, some of the games/booths were being set up. The volunteers were very nice, but the "fair" itself was very disappointing.

I appreciate that they do not force an opinion on me and allow me to ask questions to find my way. The sermons speak to me every week. They are very relatable to my life (with humor to them too) and are very educational. I never thought I'd be so eager to learn and actually read the Bible. The Pastor is amazing. He is compassionate and truly wants to know his congregation. I question so many things and he so patient with me. I have helped with the food pantry to provide a copious amount of food for those in the community who need it and I have taken one of the many courses they offer. I was proud to be apart of an event called Bless the Block last week. The purpose was to serve the community and I was in awe that we paid for people's coffees and pizzas at two local businesses. These are just a few of the many services that the church provides. I love being a member of this church. I have been attending regularly since last April. I was struggling badly and am so grateful for my friend who invited me. It was at the most perfect time and I now have hope again. God is good.

Much has been written about the church's storied history, and I'm sure there's still lots more to uncover. It was occupied by the British during the Revolutionary War, and if the walls could talk, I'm sure it would have PLENTY to say. I'm not sure if tours are available, but definitely worth checking out if you're in the area, or even making a special trip. Next to the town's "central park," Heckscher Park, and a short walk to eclectic "downtown Huntington," it's definitely worth a visit!!
