The church, constructed in 1837, has beautiful high arches inside and soaring stained glass Tiffany windows. The church is so beautiful, it is part of the biweekly Flint art walk downtown. The pipe organ bellows from it's massive pipes. When the lights are on and the pipes are illuminated you get an idea of the sheer size of the thing. They don't make them like that anymore! I met the young pastor who presided over the wedding was clear spoken and had a good sense of humor. The ladies who are members of the church and helped with the wedding were very nice and helpful. My only complaint would be that the A/C was not working very well and the bridal room (where all the girls get ready) was small and very, VERY WARM!

I'm not very religious, in fact, I'm aetheist…read more However, my mother made me go to this church practically every Sunday when I was growing up, and architecturally it is a beautiful place. So beautiful, in fact, that the statue of the archangel outside often gets its sword stolen from his hands! St. Michael's is over 160 years old and is rich with history. The school is now the School of Choice for the Flint Board of Education. I remember having to go to "Sunday School" every Sunday for too many years of my life. Though I do not like going to church, I feel that the other parishoners of this church really care about it. Depending on the pastor, the only problems I've ever heard about are pastors who do not support marriages where someone who isn't Catholic is involved.

This is a bible preaching church that does it with love and hope. Nothing is sugar coated but God's love is clear in the preaching and in the members. They also have a teens program. They have services on Sunday's at: Sunday school at 10am, church service at 11am and night church at 6pm. Then on Wednesday nights at 7pm. Btw- The people who are with the kids have to have background checks done.

Today, although the building has evolved some, it hasn't changed much from the small, quaint sanctuary that I recall from my childhood. Even though the group of family members that have decide to [return and] call this church home has changed, it still feels the same. It feels like home. I am pleased with and proud of the work that Pastor S. Payne and the congregation are doing.
