I'm might go to hell for reviewing a church--but regardless, I must share my excellent experience at St. Patrick's.
I grew up mostly Lutheran. Yep, you heard that right. You see, my Mom is Jewish, so we celebrated Jewish holidays as well. Anyways, I went to (Lutheran) church every Sunday growing up and was pretty involved in the youth groups at my church. I'm telling you this because I want you to see where my opinion is coming from.
I'm not even Catholic, but this church is just amazing. My second, most rencent time here was for St. Patrick's Day service. We live in Ohio City and this church is a gorgeous beacon of unity in this community. Talk about bringing everyone together and helping those in need. Anyways, this service was so warm, touching, down-to-earth and pretty non-denominational, really. Everyone here is so nice and they genuinely care that you're there.
The Cleveland Firefighters bagpipers closed out the packed (like standing room only) service and the congregation met up in the building next door for a huge, free breakfast.
The church itself is gorgeous. If you're ever looking for a wedding venue, I'm almost positive your search stops here. The historic, elaborate structure has recently been restored and it's absolutely gorgeous.
They also have live theater and really give back to the Ohio City neighborhood by helping those in need.
Love that this lovely piece of Cleveland history is part of the neighborhood I call home! read more
