Thus you would have a Polish church just down the street from an Irish faith community. While the nationalities have blurred a bit, this is still a wonderful church. We were here for a Friday fish fry in the Annex across the street, and we stopped by the church to visit. Glad we did. The serenity and beauty of the facility is really warm and welcoming. This is an old-fashioned church...if you visit you will enjoy all the church furnishings...from the statues to the altar. Give this place a try one day when you seek some comfort and support.

My family and I have been…read moregoing there for over six years and I honestly have not one negative thing to say about that church. It has been the best thing that has happened to us since we moved to the southwest burbs. The pastor's that speak are very current and relevant and I benefit greatly by attending there on a regular basis. There are also wonderful adult classes for everyone and the kids programs are terrific. My kids love it and they range from 4-9. They have actually cried when I say we can't go on a given week! I really could write pages and pages of how this place has changed our lives. I am so sorry that the previous reviewer had such a negative experience but all I can say is people make stupid mistakes at times. Don't let that experience turn you away from what really is an amazing place.

Although I was married here back in 2015 (under the Hansen's) the church does miss them terribly. I'm eager to see what God has in store for his church under the Stingl's!

This was the ceremony site of a friends wedding and it was a great choice. Very cute little cathedral with very high ceilings that connected at an angle. The father speaks Lithuanian so he can perform a dual language ceremony for you (and apparently they have classes in the language here as well). Beyond the cathedral this place is huge! Classrooms, bathrooms, a bathroom with a tub and shower, a kitchen, a beautician on site, a banquet hall, and a dining room that leads out onto a lawn with extra seating. We had the rehearsal dinner here with traditional Lithuanian food, wine and beer catered in (so alcohol is allowed). Definitely a place to keep in mind if you are looking for traditional Lithuanian. i sveikata!

I can't say enough good things about Parkview Christian Church…read more I attended years ago for the first time when I was going through a difficult divorce but didn't continue going. I went back a little over a year ago and I cannot say enough good things about Parkview. I like that we offer small groups to help people , we help the community , and I always feel welcome. The services are so heartwarming and relatable. I am involved in serving and it just makes me feel so good. My outlook has changed attending Parkview and I feel more at peace than I ever have. When I returned I committed to a timeframe and stayed. Change takes time and that was why I gave myself a timeframe. I'm so happy I did.

This was a delightful little Catholic Church in Homer Glen, one that we'll be sure to return to in…read morethe future. While we suspect that this church was originally a Joliet Diocese parish, it is now administered by the Augustinian Friars (OSAs instead of diocesan priests) along with the parish named Our Lady Of Good Counsel (considered a sister parish). In any event, the St. Bernard's parish and ministries were very nice. We were out and about and looking for a Catholic Church Mass one Saturday and happened upon St. Bernard's. It is a smaller church - along the lines of 500 to 600 seating - but one that doesn't lack for service. Since it is just off 143rd Street, you may have to look hard for it. We enjoyed the 4:30 Saturday liturgy, the Pastor who celebrated the Mass (Joe McCormick), and the people we met while we were there. This was a wonderful community that is bent on service rather than pomp and circumstance...we loved it. The physical layout is somewhat like a figure eight - one circle of the figure being the church proper, and the other circle being the common area where parishioners can meet and greet - on the day we were there it was set up to host an Italian Dinner for the parish. All in all this was a nice layout that was more attuned to the parishioners than the religious trimmings. About one mile away (on Parker Road) the parish has a building for the Religious Education classes and the rectory - both of which are planned (hoped) to be consolidated into the main church grounds (via the Goodings Grove school property) in the coming months. Inside the church part, there are no pews - only chairs, no kneelers - padded or otherwise, and the whole feel is that of a community closer to the basics than the trappings of office. It was a nice feeling. While a bit on the small side, this parish community has a lot to look forward to - the least of which is a growing and prosperous community. Recommended.
