Lacks professionalism and confidential conversations. 6: Not enough positive environment and I believe this might go back to the lack of early child development training. 7. High expectations for a four year old boy. 8. No posting of first aid and CPR training or food handlers permit BUT snack were given. What if a toddler begin to choke? We as parents should feel that our children are being safe environment once we drop them off. 9. Open lines of communication with the teacher shouldn't come across as being defensive. Several parents felt this way. Maybe it was just our son that they just didn't connect with or have the patients for but has parents this is the start to their little minds. They would tell me stories of what my daughter was doing but NEVER what lead to the outburst nor what they did to calm the situation...only that my daughter was a problem. My daughter is an active child which did not conform to their "ideal" student and i was warned that she would be withdrawn from the program if i didn't seek help from a doctor. We saw a pediatrician and a naturopathy doctor who deemed that my daughter was just an average 4 year old. The daycare never mentioned that they wanted her on meds but that was the driver for pushing me to get her "help". The director of this center should not work for a daycare much less a religious organization. My daughter could feel that that women was not there to help her. When my daughter was dragged to the directors office, because the caregivers didn't want to deal with her, the director would have to call me so I could talk to her over the phone and calm her down. It was common for my daughter to be hiding under a table or chair and i would have to talk her out. My daughter was treated as though she was the problem and i was treated i was contributing to the problem. We withdrew her and hired a nanny. I'm a single mom so finding a nanny within my budget was a challenge to say the least. My daughter is now enrolled in a preschool program through the public school system and is doing just fine. In summery, if your child is calm, quiet and submissive they will do fine there but if your child isn't all of the above please cut your losses and find another daycare/preschool.

My son had recently experienced an abrupt transition from a daycare he loved, and he had only been enrolled for a couple of weeks when his teacher pulled me aside at pickup and said, "He was doing a phenomenal job listening the first week or so, and now he's just not listening. Is there something going on at home?" I was surprised that the first explanation offered was something happening outside of school rather than examining what might be contributing to the behavior within the classroom environment. At the time, my son had no history of behavioral issues, and I believed he was still adjusting to a major transition. I also suspected he may have been under-stimulated. I suggested that when he appeared disengaged, he might benefit from being redirected toward a task or activity. Compounding my concern was the fact that another child had repeatedly been aggressive toward my son, including incidents of physical hitting. We brought these concerns to the school's attention, but the behavior continued, leaving me feeling that the situation was not being adequately monitored or addressed. After discussing the situation with educators from other preschool programs, I learned that many early childhood professionals first evaluate classroom dynamics, developmental needs, peer interactions, and environmental factors before assuming challenges originate at home. That perspective aligned more closely with my own understanding of child development. Ultimately, I decided not to keep my son enrolled through kindergarten and informed the school of my decision. What followed was the most disappointing part of the experience. Shortly after notifying the school, I received multiple calls encouraging me to keep my child enrolled. During one conversation, I was told that withdrawing him could result in being responsible for 20% of future kindergarten tuition because staffing decisions had already been made. When I expressed surprise, I was told, "This is a business, and we hired accordingly." While I understand that schools must plan financially, the conversation felt focused on retaining revenue rather than understanding the concerns that led to our decision. For an organization that places a strong emphasis on faith and community, I left feeling that financial considerations were prioritized over family experience. Every family's experience will be different, but ours ultimately left us feeling unheard. We are confident there are many excellent educational options available, and we are grateful to have found a different path for our son.

My name is Gerry Gordon and I am writing and advocating for my wife and daughter who have been tremendously affected by the misconduct of Annie Wright schools. Secondly, I want to address that due to the numerous accounts of negligence and social injustice my daughter endured I am convinced there is no diversity inclusion training or awareness within the Lower school staff, before and after school staff and its counterparts. Why do I say these things? Here are the things my daughter had to endure in only a 6-month period. Not in any particular order. 1. My daughter got ill with the flu due to the Annie Wrights lack of communication. To expound on this topic, I received an email stating that my daughter was "out of sorts", lethargic and not herself. Still having trust in the educators and nurse at this point, my wife and I took their advice to "monitor" her and check for a fever. We asked their opinion if we should come and they said NO she doesn't have a fever. Mind you we were never called but emailed and who knows how long she was sick. Come to find out she was in the nurse's office for over an hour maybe more. Long story short, my daughter ends up with the flu because I decided to take her to the doctor because the next day she returned to school and got a fever. On multiple occasions, we have seen her outside in the cold without a jacket. WE WERE NEVER CALLED ONCE while she exhibited concerning health signs. The nurse and the teachers refused to call and said email their primary form of contacting parents, even after I BOLDY requested phone calls due to the nature of my job and my wife's schooling. My daughter getting the flu could have been avoided with better communication. Once we gave them the requested doctors note it was questioned by the nurse. There was a lack of empathy and most importantly again we were never called. 2. My daughter was walking around barefoot I'm not sure how long this took place because we were never told or notified. The school requires extra shows and socks and she has rainboots. There is no reason for my child to walk around school for who knows how long without any shows or socks on. Once again it was treated as a simple thing and hardly addressed. 3. My daughter told us she was hit by a door from one of the staff that works directly with her. This concerned us, and we always follow up with the staff when our daughter tells us something. This said the staff has treated my wife and very different when trying to communicate simple things like "good morning". She even said Bria didn't like her for some odd reason. When confronted about the door situation her response we "it was an accident". 4. My daughter went an entire day without eating lunch. This was the final straw for us. I picked my daughter up at 5 pm and the first thing she said to me was "Daddy I didn't eat lunch today". I was concerned but questioned her and she insisted she didn't eat. Upon arriving home, I checked her lunchbox to validate her claim and there was a sticky note on there from her ticker that read, "We still don't have power for our microwave... Likely not tomorrow as well. Thanks!! Mrs. Peterson". This is wrong on so many levels. We never received a phone call so that we could possibly provide another meal. There were so many options that were not explored for my daughter to eat. Heating the meal up in another class. Giving her the paid hot lunch, the school provides and so many others. Instead, her teacher gave her a graham cracker or two and let her watch all the other kids in the class eat their lunch because she was the only one that didn't get a feed that day. Mind you she is the only African American shouldn't in her class, so this is more than just negligence of a child but socially bias behavior. When confronted by my wife, the teacher showed a lack of empathy. She stated, "I didn't think it was that big of a deal". Once my wife explained her distaste for her lack of empathy, I clam but passionate way, the teacher began to weep and blamed it on her being pregnant. The teachers, staff, and administration couldn't been more friendly, loving, caring, and knowledgable. They model a loving relationship with God and love telling the kids about Jesus. My son has flourished in this amazing Christian environment. This has been the best foundation for his school career. My youngest son and I were able to partake in the Little Miracles Class, a parent-child class beginning at age 15 months. This class has been an encouragement to me as the parent and fostered relationships among other parents. And for my son, it has been a great time to develop social skills with other kids his age, and it's a great transition for him into the school environment.
