Situated in Calton, St Mary's stands proudly in an otherwise run down area and from memory, is the second oldest church in the Archdiocese of Glasgow and has acted as the Pro-Cathedral of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Glasgow since 14 August 2009 (god bless Wikipedia).
A fantastic structure, the building is aesthetically-pleasing and although I rarely take much interest in the Old Firm, as a Scottish football fan I found it a genuinely interesting place to visit considering the history. A moving banner paying tribute to Tommy Burns is situated slightly further along. Definitely worth a visit. read more
