St. Cloud Sylvan Learning Center -- CLOSED…read more Unfortunately, the St. Cloud Sylvan Learning Center is permanently closed, and it didn't happen in a transparent or respectful way for families or staff. The closure was sudden and with no prior notice. According to multiple sources, including a former Center Director, the decision to shut down was made by Paul Ripon, the franchise owner of both the St. Cloud and Maple Grove Sylvan locations. Ripon has reportedly refused to respond to families or issue refunds for prepaid services, leaving many in the dark and out of money. The former Center Director stated on social media that she raised concerns about refunding families in December, and in return, she was fired the week before Christmas. She also believed that the new owner, who bought the franchise in July 2024, may not have had the financial means to operate it long-term, suggesting a broader issue of poor management or impending business failure. If you were affected by the closure, you might want to: Try contacting Paul Ripon directly (though reports say he is unresponsive). Join the Facebook group "Saint Cloud parents: Sylvan Learning Center lawsuit support" for legal resources and support. Reach out to Sylvan Learning's corporate office to report your case and ask about assistance.
