    Ground level

I've been working from this location for a few hours at a time while a family member goes to medical treatments up the street. It had been nice. There is lots of seating including tables and small rooms you can use. Overall it's a fairly quiet environment and one whole floor is a "quiet floor". The wi-fi is strong and stays connected well. The employees are helpful and friendly. This library does have 2 floors and a lower level... which I don't love. There is an elevator if you prefer or stairs. There are books and book displays on both upper levels and it's nicely arranged. The lower level is a computer lab - I'm not really sure how that works but they have signs up when it is "open".

This is a great library to have in the neighborhood! There are three floors and a basement. The basement has classrooms and meeting spaces (and free classes for the community like GED prep and learning spreadsheets and other computer skills), the first floor is mostly fiction, the second floor is non fiction, and the third floor is for kids and young adults. The third floor is the most fun! There's a space for littles with lots of board books. There are tables where volunteers can help kids with homework after school. There is a teen lounge area. I love hanging out on this floor even though I'm an adult (and my child is 4 months and can't read on her own yet). The staff is usually pretty friendly and helpful. On the first floor main checkout desk, there are always multiple employees so I've never had to wait in line for more than 1-2 minutes. One thing that is really convenient about the library system overall is that you can request any book or DVD and it'll be delivered to the location you choose to pick up. Also, with your free library card, you have access to Overdrive, which allows you to listen to audiobooks for free. Yay for the library's physical space and online content!

I walk poodle pants and they let me use the drive up to pick up books. Sparta always gets a pet. 15/10. Efficient, excuse forward.

I love this library! I can always find the latest travel guides, the space is very appealing and you always run into a neighbor or two.

It's a treasure to me, filling with lots of gold n jewels....except its books and movies and things along those lines. I've never been to a library with a gift shop! Or a library that lets you check out cds! Or a library with three stories if you include the downstairs. Now imagine that all into three, how amazing. I'd also like to compliment the infastructure inside and outside. Decor is so cozy and amazing, and the outside is furnished with plants, trees...anything you could think of! How fun. The place was very organized as well! Very impressive I dare say. Everything seems perfect. So why am I giving this place a four stars? Service was a little rocky in my opinion, because the librarian checking us out and "helping us" was slacking very much. There was no whimsy, no joy, no shine or polish, nothing. This is why three out of five of the CDS I checked out were still locked, very unprofessional. This library is awesome though! Of course, as they say, a few bad apples don't ruin the whole batch so I want to overall give kudos to this library! I enjoyed my visit, thank you for making my stay feel awesome Kirkwood Public Library!

The staff were friendly and there was a decent selection given the library's small size, but I'd much rather go to the Grant's View Branch in Affton.

I'm glad they have a warm place to come to, but the children's area should be reserved for children, their parents, and/or readers. Or at least people who are conscious? I went with my toddler and baby for a music class and a man was passed out on top of a woman... it made for a strange environment so we left.

The dungeon-like aspect is sheer speculation, since I never went inside. However, it was ass-to-ass with the police department, where I have been inside, and talk about an uncomfortable space. For a library, that is. It works just fine for law enforcement. Anyway, the library. The city renovated the long-vacant (I think) old poolhouse next to the municipal pool into a new library facility. I finally ventured inside last week to open a library card. My visit was admittedly brief; I only needed the card so I could hop over to the Richmond Heights library and pick up a book for class. However, from my moment's glance, this place is fantastic. The main level features a computer lab and a small area for the stacks. I made a very quick trip to the lower level just to check it out. The bulk of the books are down there, including the children's section. Yes, it's a basement, but it's a wonderful basement. Well-lit, brightly colored, and with a general feeling of happiness. I'm impressed that they were able to do so well with what was once locker rooms and public showers. This is another of my useless reviews of places I haven't really experienced. When I go back (and I will go back, especially when summer rolls around and I have time to read for fun again) I'll be sure to update this review and give you information you can actually use. One thing I can tell you, though, is that this small library and the others like it (i.e. Richmond Heights, Webster Groves) are pleasant byproducts of the sometimes frustrating disjointedness of civic institutions and services that is St. Louis County.
