Hello. I would like to share a story recently. Quite frankly ai was shocked at the behavior of a…read moremale parishioner. We were at the clothes closet this past Saturday and a purse broke through the plastic bag. A large tote purse so that was put in the car. As we were getting some clothes this male parishioner went up to my husband and said this is your third bag. Now we donate lots of clothes to the church over the past ten years. Recycling is terrific. However I feel that is no parishioners place to say such words to people. They are not his belongings. Nor should he cover them in anyway. They are gifts by the parishioners and others. This could have been potentially humiliating to another individual. No one knows the circumstances people have. And is most ungodly to covet gifts given in charity by others. It just so happened we brought two bags of donations that day and I myself assisted in putting our numerous pairs of shoes. The male parishioner did apologize after he was taken up verbally on the matter. I would hope the church would address this behavior at Sunday worship to remind the workers not to verbally accuse others of unbefitting behavior. I had worked for a local homeless agency in the next town for over ten years and we would never approach a person if we thought they had to much. It wasn't our place. Even morally. We gave out what we had until it was gone. A good reminder is that these are gifts meant for people and to take what they need. It is not a state agency with criteria and restriction. Nor in anyway a place where prior lists for things are needed and paperwork filled out and approved. It a church of giving and the good Lord gives without any scoldings. For shame on this individual.

If you come for a visit, you will find a Classical Service with elegant chamber music and the favorite hymns. You can also attend a Contemporary Service with a gifted worship band leading the church to experience the Presence of God. At all the services you will find a welcoming atmosphere and engaging, practical messages from the Bible.

The warm and welcoming atmosphere is truly special--everyone makes you feel right at home. The pastor is exceptional at capturing your attention, delivering messages that are not only engaging but also deeply rooted in the word of God. His ability to both entertain and enlighten is a rare gift that keeps you connected throughout the service. One of the best parts of this church is the variety of groups you can get involved in. I'm part of the soccer group, and it's been an absolute blast. The people are wonderful, and it really feels like a family both during and after church. The connections I've made here have been invaluable, and I've learned so much through the sermons, growing closer to God in the process. If you're considering whether or not to attend, I wholeheartedly invite you to join us. I hope you'll find a group that resonates with you, and I wish you a blessed day. Thank you for reading!

When we first attended the church, we were drawn in by the music, and then gradually welcomed in by a few more outgoing members. It is true that Unitarian Universalists tend to be introverts which can make us appear aloof. But we've made it our mission to step out of our shells and live out our promise to be welcoming. There is so much under the surface here at UUCR. It is a tapestry of people with varying religious backgrounds who've come to seek together. It's a place where atheists, Jews, agnostics, Buddhists, Humanists, and Christians (and so on) can share community, care for each other, and support each other's search for truth and contentment. It's a place of covenant not of creed, based on mutual respect. As a parent, I've seen how it has nurtured, challenged, and supported our children in a way that gives me hope for the future. UUCR is just like any other community. It requires work and money to sustain. Yes, there are committees and pledge drives and all the other trappings (beautiful and not so beautiful) of an extended family. But it is family and they have supported my family in so many ways. If your looking for a religious community, come by on Sunday. Look for me or our amazing member services coordinator Melissa. We'd be happy to introduce you around.

My 100th review: my own church…read more If you come Friday nights or Sunday mornings, our church will provide free Korean food. So 5 stars for being free! Quality? No MSG, better than any Korean restaurants, and it's homemade. All the Korean moms of the church rotate in cooking but if you get stuck with "Eunice's mom," you WIN. It's guaranteed to be one of the best meals of your life. Our entire 700 people at church could testify to this. We are all encouraging her to open up a restaurant and pwn all the boston crappy Korean-wanna-be-restaurants. And she's thinking about it!!! Buk kyung, Korean Garden, Color, and all you restaurant nubs out there, u betta watch out~! She makes the best kimchi, ggakduki, pamutchim.....soups: sullungtang, samgaetang, spare ribs jjigae, mandoogook....and the best wings. So if you don't believe me, just come to our church around 7pm...and you'll see one crazy korean (me) eating ferociously for about 30min. Then i'll hook u up with some sick nasty food (sick nasty means it's so good that it's gross....i hope u understand my language). But here is the catch. Afterwards, u gotta attend our service. It's ok if you are not a christian. If u are, that's great. We'll have awesome fellowship. If not, that's great too. We can talk about faith, religion, Christianity, yelp or food...hehehe....=)
