St. John's Episcopal Church is welcoming and supportive community. I went to this church while I was a child and continued to attend on and off for a few years during and after college. They've been through some transitions with musical directors and rectors (priests) but now everything seems to be going well. The vestry is very active and involved in various church initiatives and so is the congregation.
There are ramps to the entrance of the church, for those who need it. Ascetically, the church has a stone foundation with dark wood interior. The parish hall is huge and also has a old-time charm. There are newly renovated classrooms (within the last 10 years) upstairs and kitchen, office and meeting room on the first floor. This church "invites all children of God" including the LGBTQIA community. The rector/priest is new, a woman and wonderful. Her entire family is so blessed to be part of such a warm congregation.
I would highly recommend anyone interested in finding a new church, passing through, visiting a relative, or wants to explore other denominations to check out St. John's Episcopal. read more
