The Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist is an architectural masterpiece. It was designed by renowned architects Tourtelotte and Hummel, who also built the Idaho state capitol, the Gem County Courthouse in Emmett and the Lithia Springs Hotel in Ashland, among hundreds of other buildings and homes.
The cathedral is the largest Romanesque Revival-style church in Idaho and modeled after the Cathedral of Mainz, located in western Germany.
